Submitted by cbaus on Sat, 10/05/2002 - 12:51.Buried in an Athens Messenger story about gubernatorial hopeful Tim Hagan's ideas on fixing the state budget were these comments about his beliefs concerning HB274:
"Hagan...is opposed to the concealed weapons bill as it is presently written. Hagan said more restrictions need to placed on the bill so law enforcement has greater discretion."
"'We don't want guns in the hands of the mentally-ill, terrorists or children', Hagan said. KEY RACE: OFCC PAC endorses Linda Reidelbach (R) to House 21
Submitted by cbaus on Sat, 10/05/2002 - 11:46.Incumbent Linda Reidelbach of Columbus is seeking a second term to the Ohio House, in the newly redistricted House District 21.
Reidelbach was a major advocate for Conceal Carry Reform and self-defense rights in the Ohio House during her first term. She was a primary sponsor of HB225.
OFCC PAC has been impressed with Linda Reidelbach's voting record on CCW/self-defense-related issues. Her familiarity and experience with HB274, for which she voted yes, ensures continued strong support for Ohio CCW initiatives in the House.
There are indications her opposition has decided to make a campaign issue of her support for Conceal Carry Reform. Columbus residents may soon begin seeing anti-Conceal Carry Reform television ads like the ones Jim Trakas is facing in District 17.
