Ohioans For Concealed Carry

As many of you may know it is possible to "submit news" by clicking the
link in the top left corner of our website. The system requires no
authentication -- so most stories are submitted anonymously. One such
story came in to us Monday evening that has blown our minds.

Please note that Ohioans For Concealed Carry or the OFCC PAC does not get involved in federal elections or federal issues. On the other hand, we have been challenged about our news stories and comments with respect to John Kerry, and it's time to defend our comments:

It is my personal opinion that no self-respecting, responsible gun owner
in the United States can vote for John Kerry, believe he is good on
guns, tell me he is good on guns, and keep a straight face.

Any person who feels this way is clearly confused, misled, or missing
the point entirely when it comes to electing a president friendly to gun
owners, our causes, and our constitutional rights.

Here is what was submitted to our website:

YOU PEOPLE ARE SO AFRAID KERRY IS GOING TO TAKE YOUR GUNS ITS 
DISGUSTING. MOST OF ALL THE CRAP YOUR PUTTING OUT ON THIS SITE IS LIES 
ABOUT WHERE JOHN KERRY STANDS ON GUNS. HE HAS NOTHING AGAINST LAW 
ABIDDING PEOPLE OR SPORTSMAN. WHY DO YOU PUT OUT THESE LIES? YOU HAVE 
ABOUT ALL DEMS LABLED AS GUN GRABBERS AND THIS IS JUST NOT TRUE. JUST 
LOOK AT THE SHAPE THIS COUNTRY IS IN WITH THE 4 YEARS OF BUSH. THIS IS 
THE BIGGEST MESS IN HISTORY AND IT WILL ONLY GET WORST WITH BUSH IN FOR 
4 MORE YEARS. I USE TO LOVE THIS SITE BUT WITH ALL THE LIES ON HERE I 
WILL NO LONGER SUPPORT THIS SITE.

Besides the fact that this probably came from a lurker opposed to our
website pretending to be truly upset, the fact is John Kerry has been
one of, and now remains, the biggest threat to law-abiding gun owners in the U.S. Senate.

Ohioans For Concealed Carry has never "labeled all Dems" as gun grabbers". The statement immediately after this accusation makes it clear that the author probably doesn't really believe John Kerry is so friendly to guns. Rather, he's opposed to President Bush and wants us to forget the history of John Kerry when it comes to gun issues.

The OFCC PAC has consistently endorsed Democrats for Ohio races when the
candidate was truly qualified for the position and convinced the PAC
that they were quality candidates favorable to gun owners.

OFCC never intentionally misleads anyone, as the anonymous
author suggested. The authors of our website have been consistently
upfront and forthcoming with the truth about John Kerry's record for the
past twenty some years as a United States Senator.

John Kerry has signed on with Diane Feinstein and Ted Kennedy enough
times to make it perfectly clear where he stands with respect to law-abiding gun owners: Opposed to us, period.

John Kerry has fought every effort to rescue firearms manufacturers who
have been taken to court to bankrupt the industry and put them out of
business. Trial lawyers like Kerry's running mate John Edwards raked in
the cash while small businesses spent every last penny defended the
practice of manufacturing a legal product.

The National Rifle Association has done excellent research on John
Kerry's voting history, which can be

found on the NRA ILA website here. Each vote includes a footnote
indicating where the information was sourced from.

As President George Bush said in the second debate - "you can run, but you
can not hide" [your voting record].
