Statewide and Hamilton County ACTION ALERT
Submitted by JEaton on Tue, 03/21/2006 - 14:17.YOUR IMMEDIATE ACTION IS NEEDED
Support Tim Grendell for Attorney General
Gun Rights supporters in Ohio we need your help again. The State and Hamilton County Republican Committees will be endorsing for the May primary this Friday. Grassroot efforts have already helped Senator Grendell obtain endorsements from Miami, Clermont, Knox and Geauga County Republican Parties and we must keep this momentum going. UPDATE: Grassroots effort brings Miami County Endorsement
It is critical for any supporters who live and vote in Hamilton county to immediately contact the county chairman. Supporters in other counties need to contact their State Committee person. Gun owners need to tell the committee members that A strong support of firearms rights and the Ohio constitution is what is important. This is why the committee members must choose to endorse gun rights supporter Senator Tim Grendell for Attorney General and NOT Betty "I will never be the candidate of the NRA" Montgomery.
Time is short and these county and state endorsements are critical for Tim. Let them know that gun owners will not accept Betty Montgomery as Attorney General.

Ohio considers measure to modernize self-defense laws (HB541)
Submitted by pete on Tue, 03/21/2006 - 13:15.Rep. Stephen Buehrer (R-74) has introduced HB 541, a measure aimed at modernizing Ohio's law on self-defense. Ohio joins 22* states, including every contiguous state, that are considering, or have passed, 'Stand Your Ground' legislation.
This reform brings desperately needed change to Ohio’s self-defense laws. In many states, including Ohio, the civil and criminal burden is placed upon the victim in a self-defense encounter due to convoluted jury tests that include, among other things, a duty to retreat. The reforms introduced today place the burden back where it belongs, on the bad guy.
Victims will once again be presumed innocent.

15 Ways To Fight For Our Second Amendment Rights
Submitted by cbaus on Tue, 03/21/2006 - 01:05.By Chris Chumita
The fight to keep our Second Amendment rights has had some impressive victories lately. In the past few years, we have seen more states begin to allow citizens to carry concealed firearms, the repeal of the “Clinton Assault Rifle Ban,” and the recent passage of the “Lawful Commerce In Arms Act.”
Despite these victories, now is not the time for us to become complacent about our Second Amendment rights. In fact, it is under attack in ways that we have only feared. For example, we have seen the passage of an “Assault Rifle Ban” in Columbus, Ohio, a voter approved gun ban in San Francisco, and the confiscation of firearms from law abiding citizens during a natural disaster in Louisiana.
Now, more than ever, we have to fight to protect out Second Amendment rights. Below are 15 easy things that you can do to help. You do not have to do all 15 to join the fight, but if everyone could just do one of them, it would help gun owners everywhere.
