New Literature Section added to Grassroots Action Guide

An all-volunteer grassroots organization can only be as influential as the individuals who support it want it to be. We need your help so that this organization make a difference in Columbus and beyond.

Buckeye Firearms Assocaition has created a new area of our Grassroots Action Guide dedicated to providing you what you need to help the word about the good work being done here to defend and advance the rights of Ohio citizens to own and use firearms for all legal activities, including self-defense, hunting, competition, and recreation!

Please click on the images below to visit the Literature Section of our Grassroots Action Guide, where you can download these pieces of literature, and email them to pro-gun friends, print copies and distribute them to gun shops, clubs, shows, etc.

Op-Ed: Gun Control- Do Brady Policies Support Criminal Behavior?

May 11, 2006
By Howard Nemerov

A recent article covering Michigan’s proposed Castle Doctrine law prompted this response from the Brady Campaign:

“This law is a terrible signal to send to people, that if you had second thoughts before, rest assured the government is on your side, so go ahead and kill somebody,” said Peter Ham [sic] of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence in Washington, D.C. “It makes my stomach turn.”

What is most curious is the common thread throughout Brady literature and media statements: their organization focuses on killing, not the dynamics of situations which may require the use of deadly force.

Since they enacted their right-to-carry law in 2001, Michigan has seen a greater-than-average drop in violent crime and murder.[2] There is every indication that Michigan’s law-abiding gun owners exercise restraint and responsibility.

NOTE: Nemerov will appear on NRANews.com's Cam & Company Friday May 12 at 4:20 p.m. to discuss this article! The archived broadcast will be available throughout the weekend and Monday until 3:00 p.m.

HB347: Senate Proponent/ Opponent hearing scheduled May 17

House Bill 347 will have another hearing next week. The bill has been added to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Criminal Justice's agenda for May 17 at 9:00 a.m. in Senate Building, North Hearing Room.

The purpose for Wednesday's hearing is so that the committee may hear testimony on HB347 from proponents and opponents of the legislation, and other interested parties. Buckeye Firearms Association leaders will be on hand.

Filling hearing rooms as this legislation nears a committee vote will make a serious statement of support. Your presence at this meeting is beneficial to the cause. Please consider making the trip to Columbus to be a visible show of support for HB347 and its sponsor, Rep. Aslanides.

For more information on HB347, see: Sub H.B. 347 Introduced (DETAILED SUMMARY).
