In an attempt to create a positive buzz, the anti-gun Brady Gang’s recent change in leadership is designed to renew interest in a misguided movement based on fear and ignorance. Choosing the former Republican mayor of Fort Wayne, Indiana is clearly part of plan to get people to buy the group’s supposed change in focus from complete gun confiscation to getting illegal guns out of the nation’s communities.

Few, except the establishment media, believe that a group created to destroy the Second Amendment has suddenly changed its tune. Instead, pro-gun groups continue to point out that the anti-gun movement began with the promise to pursue “reasonable” gun laws, yet quickly put forth the idea that any gun in the hands of a law abiding citizen is unreasonable.

To that end, the Brady Gang is intent on taking away the presumption of innocence affirmed in the Constitution. Long have they preached that the inability to predict which law-abiding gun owner would commit a crime means they are all guilty – of what we don’t know.

Yet, the establishment media continues to believe that this time the anti-gun movement finally is living up to the promise to only target illegal gun dealers, and criminals, trying to buy guns.

reporting that, thanks to Officer Ed Dye and Eddie Eagle, primary students at three Pierce Township schools know what they should do if they ever find a gun.

Dye, the school resource officer, presents the Eddie Eagle program at the township's three schools -- Locust Corner Elementary, Merwin Elementary and St. Bernadette -- once each year. Most recently, the program was held at Merwin April 26.

The programs usually are presented in the spring, because some of the students will be at home alone during the summer while their parents are at work, said Pierce Township Police Chief James Smith.

"It's a simple message," he said, "and they take it home and remember it."

Durham Police say thieves likely used a website posting to trace a gun owner, break into his Newcastle home, rip his safe off the wall and steal rifles, shotguns, pistols and bullets.

Durham Police Detective Constable Geoff Ingram urged gun owners to be cautious in posting information that could be used to identify themselves. In this case, Ingram said the victim had some guns for sale on a website and posted his home phone number.

The thieves broke in sometime Thursday afternoon and ransacked the home.

The cache of weapons including two rifles, three shotguns, three pistols, two samurai swords and a .50-calibre muzzle loader were all legally owned and stored with trigger locks.

The crooks simply yanked the safe from the wall it was bolted to and escaped, according to Ingram.
