Dear GOP: If you truly value it, do it BEFORE November 7

By Chad D. Baus

Republicans have announced their "American Values Agenda'' to shore up their conservative base this election year, and two of the ten priorities are aimed directly at gun owners. One is a bill giving gun dealers more protection from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the other is the Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act, based on the effort by New Orleans police to curb violence after Hurricane Katrina struck last summer by confiscating guns.

The San Francisco Chronicle is quoting analysists who say that Republican leaders, "fearful they could lose control of either house of Congress -- or both -- in the Nov. 7 elections, are trying to rally their conservative base," which polls suggest appear unmotivated about the elections.

A Gallup Poll conducted last week found that "56 percent of Democrats expressed enthusiasm for voting in November, compared with 43 percent of Republicans." The same Gallup Poll found that "voters, by 54 percent to 38 percent, said they were more likely to vote for Democrats than Republicans in November's congressional elections."

John Willamowski endorsed for Judge

Buckeye Firearms is proud to announce our endorsement for Ohio District Court of Appeals.

John Willamowski
(R) has earned our endorsement for the Third District Court of Appeals.
Willamowski has always been a strong supporter of all our freedoms, including firearms rights, but more importantly for this job, he has all the credentials to make an excellent judge.

It’s not important that a judge be “pro-gun” but rather that they correctly apply the law. As we have seen far too often, judges sometimes go to great lengths to write a twisted opinion to avoid doing what is clearly right; finding for the “pro-gun” side. John Willamowski will not do that. He will simply apply the law. Every law abiding citizen should be happy with that. Gun owners should be thrilled.

Buckeye Firearms Assoc. Chairman Jim Irvine said, “It is crucial that we elect good judges. John will be the kind of judge our founding fathers dreamed of.”

If you live in Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert, Allen, Mercer, Auglaize, Shelby, Hancock, Hardin, Logan, Seneca, Wyandot, Crawford, Marion, or Union county, you need to support John Willamowski for Judge.

Judge is one of the toughest offices to become educated about. They have restrictions on both fundraising and campaigning that other candidates are not encumbered with. That is why it’s important that you help your friends, neighbors and family remember to vote for John Willamowski for Judge.

Op-Ed: Gun Control - The Sins of Government Are Visited Upon the People

July 03, 2006
By Howard Nemerov
Excerpt from Fear or Fact by Howard Nemerov
(Author’s note: The United Nations is currently meeting to discuss ways of implementing “adequate controls” over the international arms trade. What this means in real language is that they seek a way to implement global civilian disarmament. Here is a glimpse of how that actually plays out.)
More than 500,000 people have been killed by firearms in Brazil between 1979 and 2003, according to a new report by the United Nations.
The study found that there were more gun-related killings in Brazil than in most war zones.
Guns are the single biggest cause of death among young people in the Latin American nation, the organisation says.
The U.N. has urged lawmakers to approve plans for a referendum in October on whether to ban the sale of firearms.[1]
The United Nations has been promoting world-wide civilian disarmament since the 1990s. Their professed goals are encapsulated in the reference above: guns kill people, therefore the people should not have access to guns. If all guns were restricted from civilian access, would this halt the international arms trade, thus eliminating criminal access and reducing crime as well? Most importantly, is it really true that civilian firearms are the biggest threat to our global safety and security?
