Lunch wagon driver defends life when armed robbers attack

The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that a Hamilton County business man and CHL-holder was able to defend his life when attacked by two armed robbers.

From the Cincinnati Enquirer:

Cincinnati police Lt. Chris Matzen said two men tried to rob the driver of the lunch wagon at Millsdale Street at Curzon Avenue, just west of Anthony Wayne Avenue.

During the attempted robbery, one suspect fired shots. Police did not release the robbery victim's name.

Matzen said the lunch wagon driver then pulled out a .45-caliber handgun and shot one suspect in the leg. The man was in critical condition at University Hospital, police said. His name was not released.

Police said the lunch wagon driver has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

A warrant for Demarcus Allen Pleasure - the man police say ran off - was issued Friday on charges of aggravated robbery, said Lt. Gary Brown.

A man who witnessed the attack speculated the robbers targeted the driver because he cashes checks on Fridays and is known to carry a lot of money.
