Ohio And West Virginia Enter Into A Reciprocity Agreement
Submitted by cchumita on Fri, 06/08/2007 - 22:57.The Buckeye Firearms Association has learned that Ohio and West Virginia have entered into a reciprocity agreement, and will now honor each other's concealed handgun licenses. With the addition of West Virginia, Ohio now has reciprocity with 17 states, and our CHL is honored by another 7 states.
This is another victory in the fight to restore our Second Amendment rights, and makes travel more "gun friendly" for Ohio's concealed handgun license holders.

Stand Your Ground Movement and The Looting Of America, Part II
Submitted by cchumita on Fri, 06/08/2007 - 00:15.The The Protection Racket.
By John Longenecker
As I wrote in Part I, Stand Your Ground Movement Stands Against The Looting Of America, liberals and gun control nuts are tightly bound allies of senseless violence in America and around the world so they can farm crime to yield a crop of dependency on official agencies, including the United Nations. Liberals here and through international bodies seek to disarm people for the purpose of running a protection racket.
Standing your ground is being slandered, but not as much as it is being embraced by America.
Do we need such values as Stand Your Ground to be officially endorsed? Confiscation of property and dissing personal sovereignty can’t happen here? It did, in 2005 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, and it’s still happening as she has still not returned confiscated weapons according to court order. This is one of the greatest fears of liberty enthusiasts, and now others whose attention it is attracting: utter official defiance of law without penalty. Anyone who was against Clinton for defiance of the law could also be against Nixon for that same defiance. It’s not a party thing. It’s a citizen thing.

My Home is My Castle
By: Rick Jones
While reading over some of the newspapers across the state recently, I found an interesting letter to the editor in which a person asked, "If armed felons beat my door in, do I have to worry about legal ramifications if I shoot them?" It really made me think about this and take into consideration some of Ohio's antiquated laws.
Ohio has recently had some sweeping improvements in our gun laws, but there is room for improvement. In cases like the one mentioned above, Ohio still has on the books "a duty to retreat". This means that under certain guidelines of the law, someone breaks into your home you have a duty to leave your home if possible.
To me this sounds like it would be difficult to do. Should the homeowner be forced into using deadly force, who is going to be the victim and who is going to be the criminal? Most homeowners feel the same way I do - if someone breaks into my home at 3 in the morning I don't think they are coming in to borrow a cup of sugar. Ignoring the fact that we've worked hard all our lives to provide a safe and secure home for our loved ones, are we now supposed to roll over and play dead?
