Governor Ted Strickland attends 2009 Buckeye Bash; promises to veto any anti-gun legislation

Attendees of the 2009 Buckeye Bash already knew they were in for a special time on Saturday, October 17, but didn't know until soon after they arrived that the evening was going to be made even more special by the appearance of Governor Ted Strickland.
The 2009 Buckeye Bash, which was held at Cardinal Center Campgrounds and Shooting Center in Marengo, just 30 miles north of Columbus, was held in support of Buckeye Firearms Foundation, an Ohio not-for profit foundation which is pursuing a lawsuit against the City of Cleveland for enforcing illegal gun control laws.

Obama administration backs U.N.'s pursuit of international gun control treaty

Reuters is reporting that the Obama administration has reversed U.S. policy and said it would back launching talks on a United Nations treaty to regulate arms sales, a move that pro-gun activists warn is one giant leap toward side-stepping Congress and overturning the Second Amendment.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the United States would support the talks as long as the negotiating forum, the so-called Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty, "operates under the rules of consensus decision-making."
