Senator Jordan needs your help

By Jim Irvine

Buckeye Firearms endorsee Jim Jordan is in a primary battle for Ohio’s 4th congressional district. In a district that votes almost 60-40 for a Republican, the candidate who wins this Republican primary election will very likely win in November. May 2 is the important date.

Jordan is currently Chairman of the Senate Judiciary – Criminal Justice Committee and will be key to helping keep HB347 a good bill. He has been a great friend to gun owners in the Senate, and he has a long track record to back up his pro-gun talk. If you are a hunter, CHL holder, sport shooter, gun collector, or just think the Constitution means what is says, then Jim Jordan is your friend.

Jim is in a tight race with another “Republican” who is claiming to be “conservative” but who looks more like a “RINO.” Ohio is sick of RINO’s and we need to make sure Jim Jordan wins this race.

They say, “Birds of a feather flock together”, “you can tell a man by the company he keeps,” and “When you want to know a man's heart, follow his money.” Let’s examine the differences between candidates.

Senator Lynn Wachtmann is as strong as one can be on gun issues, so a friend to the cause should have supported him, but Jim’s opponent, Frank Guglielmi supported Wachtmann’s opponent Steve Oman with a $2,500 donation. And while he donated to pro-gun candidate Mike Gilb, he also gave $2,000 to his opponent Tony Iriti. He has supported Betty Montgomery and George Voinovich. But the biggest recipient of his donations has been Bob Taft, with over $6,200 in donations. These donations seem more aimed at helping him stay in the “in crowd” than promoting a “conservative” agenda, and they certainly did not support the most “pro-gun” candidate.

By contrast, “Citizens for Jim Jordan” has donated nothing to the above candidates, opting instead to donating almost $1,000 to our great friend John Willamowski, $4,000 to Ken Blackwell, with more donations to Ron Hood, Lynn Wachtmann, Kevin Coughlin, Ron Young and others.

There is a stark difference to how these two men have spent their money and influence over the past decade. One has consistently worked to defeat our friends while Jim Jordan’s committee has spent over $17,000 to support the people that brought us a concealed carry law, and have continued to support improving Ohio’s laws this session.

Of course everyone knows you need to talk conservative to win this primary, and Guglielmi is doing a good job talking, but Ohio needs someone who is what he claims to be. Ohio needs to send a strong Congressman to Washington; someone who knows what is right, and who has proven he will stand up to political pressure and stay true to the people who elected him. We can’t afford to let a “DeWine” type candidate win this primary election. Ohio needs Jim Jordan, and Jim Jordan needs you.

Jordan needs to run TV campaigns to counter claims by his very wealthy opponent and inform voters why he is the best choice. He needs money. If you can help, even if it’s only a $5-25 donation, please visit his web site or mail checks to:
