Fewer and fewer Americans say they support gun control

A new Gallup poll indicates that fewer people in the United States say they are supportive of stricter gun control laws.

As reported by United Press International (UPI), a survey last week found that 51 percent support stricter laws governing the sale of firearms - down from 60 percent during the Clinton 90's. Those who said the laws should either be kept as they are or made less strict was 47 percent. The survey has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percent.

The story reports the poll found that a majority of residents in the East and West favor stricter laws, while about half of those in the Midwest and South are opposed. Two-thirds of Democrats favor stricter gun laws, while a majority of Republicans and independents would rather laws remain as they are or become less strict.

This poll indicates that more and more Americans are realizing that gun control laws do nothing to restrict the lawless, and proves the gun ban lobby is lying when it claims to represent the vast majority of America.
