Ohio CHL-holder chases away robbers on Dayton crime spree

WKEF, Dayton's ABC affiliate, reported recently that a trio of armed robbers on a crime spree revealed themselves nothing but cowards when they were confronted by an Ohio concealed handgun license-holder.

From the report:

Calls to 911 and several surveillance videos are shedding more light on this morning's string of robberies during which three suspects hit three stores, all within an hour.

Surveillance video outside the Towne Laundry on Linden Avenue shows two robbery suspects get out of a minivan just after midnight May 6 while wearing masks and enter the building. Moments later, the suspects ran out and got back in the van, with a customer following close behind pointing a handgun at the suspects as they drive off.

It appears one suspect remained in the vehicle during that robbery attempt. Dayton police say two suspects who entered the laundry both displayed weapons but didn't get away with any cash when the man with his own gun chased them away.

That man reportedly has a license to carry a concealed weapon.

The CHL-holder is described by WKEF as "fearless," and notes that "so many [are] glad tonight this man fought back for everyone."

At the conclusion of WKEF's broadcast report, the reporter describes how the get-away driver left at least one of the suspects running behind, and the anchor responds, saying forcefully "because they're all cowards."
