Thursday, Kansas became the 47th state to allow concealed carry for its law abiding citizens. Nebraska, Wisconsin and Illinois are the only states that forbid all their citizens from carrying concealed firearms.
The road to CCW in Kansas has been long, with many disappointments along the way. Even though the voters and the legislature have wanted it, it has been blocked by an anti-gun Governor. Both the present Democratic governor and the previous Republican governor had vetoed concealed carry in previous sessions. But Thursday her veto was overridden. Congratulations to the Kansas residents who worked to elect a strong pro-gun legislature willing and able to override this veto.
