There are more stories pertaining to our gun rights in Ohio then we can possibly draw attention to with individual daily commentary. But they are all worthy of mention.

5/5/09: Maumee, Ohio: Maumee To Stock Up On Police Ammo

From the article:

Likening it to ordering road salt for icy roads in anticipation of higher prices and shortages, Maumee City Council agreed Monday night to stock up on ammunition for the police department.

This was a smart idea. The ammo shortage does not appear to be ending anytime soon.

5/5/09: Columbus, Ohio: Alleged Robber Shot During Holdup

From the article:

Police said a man was shot when he tried to rob a northeast side gas station on Tuesday morning.

Thanks to a gun, the clerk survived the robbery attempt.

5/1/09: Stow, Ohio: Police: Clerk Shot During Robbery; Suspects Lead Police On Chase

From the article:

Police said two men walked into the gas station, armed and dangerous, and demanded money. One of the clerks was shot in the abdomen.

Clerks have a dangerous job. Incidents like this show why their employers should allow them to carry a gun for self-defense.

5/1/09: Alexandria, Ohio: ALEXANDRIA WOMAN HONORED BY NRA

The National Rifle Association has selected Linda Walker, of Alexandria, to receive the 2009 Sybil Ludington Women's Freedom Award, which recognizes legislative activism as well as advocacy, volunteerism and education.

Linda is also one of the leaders for the Buckeye Firearms Association. If you meet her,thank her for all of her hard work.

4/30/09: Northport, Alabama: Alabama Man Sleeps With Gun, Shoots Himself

From the article:

A 24-year-old man likely will rethink his habit of sleeping with a gun after police said his 40-caliber pistol discharged and hit him in the shoulder on Wednesday.

Accidents like this should never happen. There are ways to SAFELY store loaded guns so that they are also easily accessible for self-defense.

4/29/09: National: Americans Have Bought Enough Guns And Ammo In Last Three Months To Arm Entire Indian/Chinese Armies

From the article:

You also bought 1,529,635,000 rounds of ammunition in just the month of December 2008. Yeah that is right, that is Billion with a B. This number takes no accounting of reloading or reloaded ammunition.

4/20/09: Urbana, Ohio: Residents March With Firearms In Downtown Urbana

From the article:

Thomas Horch, who organized the Patriots’ Day Open Carry Walk, said the walk was designed to educate people about gun rights in Ohio. For about an hour, the small group walked through downtown Urbana carrying rifles and handguns. The rifles were not loaded, and the handguns were holstered at all times, Horch said. Authorities were also notified about the walk in advance.

Organized open carry marches are great ways to bring awareness and support to our cause.
