By Chris Chumita

There are more stories pertaining to our gun rights in Ohio then we can possibly draw attention to with individual daily commentary. But they are all worthy of mention.

What follows is our review of headlines from around the state though a pro-gun rights lens.

From David Spade buying rifles to abusive cops, these articles should be a part of your required reading!

What follows is several days of headlines accompanied by short, concise pro-gun analysis.

12/22/08: Phoenix, Arizona: David Spade Helps Phoenix Police Pay for Guns

David Spade can now check this off his Christmas list: 300 rifles.

The funnyman. 44, stopped by a police station in his former hometown of Phoenix on Monday morning to present a check for $100,000 toward the purchase of rifles for patrol officers, the police department says in a statement.

It looks like David Spade knows what so many other Hollywood actors do not....guns make us safer.

12/22/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Police: Suspects Rob Store At Gunpoint After Carjacking Woman

Cleveland police said two male suspects robbed a west side store at gunpoint Monday evening after carjacking a woman.

It seems that Cleveland has its priorities screwed up when it comes to guns. They seem to worry more about the law-abiding than the thugs who are destroying the city.

12/22/08: Coventry Township: Man Attacks Woman Loading Groceries In Car

From the article:

According to the sheriff's office, the 42-year-old victim was in the grocery store parking lot and was putting the bags in her trunk when a man approached her and attempted to pull her away from her vehicle.

The victim was able to escape the attacker's grasp by kicking him in the groin. The man then fled on foot.

This story has a happy ending, because the woman refused to be a victim and fought back.

12/21/08: Dayton, Ohio: Woman Robbed At Wal-Mart, Shot In Stomach

From the article:

Police said two men robbed a woman unloading purchases in a Wal-Mart parking lot Saturday in suburban Dayton, then shot her in the stomach.

Also from the article:

Guess said the woman refused until she saw the gun. She was shot in the abdomen after she handed the purse over.

The victim did hand the purse over and was still shot. So much for the compliance myth.

12/19/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Man Shot Tonight During Carjacking In Cleveland

From the article:

A 36-year-old man shot during a car jacking in Cleveland died Friday evening.

Another violent crime in the city that seems to worry more about law-abiding citizens carrying guns instead of criminals.

12/17/08: Newburgh Heights, Ohio: Three Members Of Newburgh Heights Police Department Accused Of Felonious Assault

From the article:

Two Newburgh Heights police officers and a dispatcher were indicted Tuesday on felonious assault charges for their roles in using a Taser on a drunken-driving suspect.

According to the gun-grabbers, only police officers are responsible enough to carry guns.
