By Chris Chumita

There are more stories pertaining to our gun rights in Ohio then we can possibly draw attention to with individual daily commentary. But they are all worthy of mention.

What follows is our review of headlines from around the state though a pro-gun rights lens.

From a robbery at a motel to a home invader apologizing after stabbing the wrong person, these articles should be a part of your required reading!

What follows is several days of headlines accompanied by short, concise pro-gun analysis.

7/17/08: Middletown, Ohio: Woman Knocks On Motel Door; Man Robbed Of $60K

From the article:

A man told police that three men entered his southwest Ohio motel room and robbed him of about $60,000 in cash he had from a personal injury settlement.

Violent robberies can happen anywhere, even in towns that are considered to be safe, such as Middletown.

7/16/08: Miami Township: Miami Twp. Bank Target Of Robbery

From the article:

The robbery happened Wednesday morning at the Fifth-Third Bank on Miamisburg-Centerville Road. The bank is located near east of the Dayton Mall.

All Fifth-Third banks are criminal protection zones, because they ban law-abiding citizens from carrying their handguns while inside their banks. All the signs do is advertise that all of the victims inside the bank were defenseless and safe to rob. Banning guns do not prevent crime!

7/16/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Woman Shot To Death Days After Losing Mother To Cancer

From the article:

A woman was shot and killed while playing cards on her front porch late Tuesday night. Cleveland police said Ebony Jefferson, 31, was shot at about 11:20 p.m. on East 146th Street. They said Jefferson was on the porch with three or four other people when a man, 25 to 30 years old, tried to rob them. Officers said that for some reason, the man began firing off several rounds. One struck Jefferson in the right side.

Once again, violence rocks the city of Cleveland, and another innocent victim is killed. When will the city stopping wasting time and money targeting law-abiding gun owners and go after the real criminals?

7/16/08: Akron, Ohio: Lottery To Be Held For Bow Hunting Permits This Fall

From the article:

The Summit County Metro Parks will allow bow hunting by permit this fall as part of a continuing effort to control the deer population. Participation will be limited to Summit County residents who pass an archery test and whose names are chosen in a lottery in August.

Tnhis is a great opportunity to get in some extra hunting this year!

7/16/08: Columbus, Ohio: Thieves Target Local Restaurants

From the article:

Central Ohio restaurant owners are seeing a rash of robberies, some being robbed multiple times in one week.

A robbery can happen anywhere and anytime, even while you are eating at your favorite restaurant. Always be prepared to defend yourself!

7/15/08: Conneaut, Ohio: Woman Shot In Parking Lot Of Restaurant

From the article:

Police said an 18-year-old woman was shot. She is listed in fair condition at Conneaut Medical Center.

This is another example of why 18 year-old adults should have the right to carry a handgun for self-defense.

7/15/08: Modesto, California: Home Invaders Stab Wrong Man, Apologize

From the article:

A group of suspected gangsters apologized for stabbing the wrong person after a Modesto home invasion, a woman who lives at the house said.

An apology does not change the fact that a man had his home invaed, was stabbed, and beaten. This incident reminds us that we all can be victims of a home invasion and should always be prepared to defend ourselves.
