From speeders to pedophiles employed by the anti-gun Disney, these articles should be a part of your required reading!

10/1/07: Columbus, Ohio: 1,416 Ohioans Ticketed For Over 100 mph

From the article:

State troopers issued 1,416 speeding tickets last year to drivers going more than 100 mph, an offense that Ohio labels a minor misdemeanor and is punishable by a $150 fine.

The media isn't publishing the names of the speeders, although they have committed a crime, but they will print the names of CHL holders who have not committed any crimes.

9/28/07: Cleveland, Ohio: Cleveland: Convenience Store Worker Survives Violent Beating

From the article:

Rufty was on a break when a man approached him with a brick - and started to attack.

Police tell 19 Action News the suspect - Emmanuel Bell - attacked so he could rob the Shell Station.

What's worse - a crowd gathered to watch the beating that lasted for over seven minutes.

No wonder we need to carry firearms to protect ourselves. How can any decent human being sit back and watch a clerk get robbed and beat for 7 minutes and not intervene?

9/26/07: Orlando, Flordia: Police: Disney Worker Traveled To Have Sex With 14-Year-Old Girl

From the article:

A 27-year-old Disney worker was arrested after he traveled to a parking lot in Orange County believing he was going to have sex with a 14-year-old he met online, according to authorities.

The NRA-ILA said it best when they said, "Disney will fire an employee, immediately, for a having a legal firearm in his/her private vehicle for self-defense and other lawful
purposes while parked in a public access parking lot, but protects the job of a pedophile who has been arrested by the FBI on child-pornography charges.

9/26/07: Cleveland, Ohio: Cleveland Averaging 1 Slaying Every 65 Hours

From the article:

A man who died after being dropped off at Fairview Hospital Wednesday became Cleveland's 100th homicide of 2007

Also from the article:

Officials said the 2007 rate is the worst since 1995.

As predicted, Mayor Jackson's war on legal gun owners is not making the city more dangerous. How about we start focusing that attention on real criminals for a change?

9/25/07: Warren, Ohio: Questions Over Copying Names Of Gun Licensees

From the article:

The Trumbull County prosecutor has told the sheriff not to allow journalists to copy names of county residents who hold licenses to carry concealed handguns.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor Dennis Watkins has asked Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann to clarify how information about those who have licenses can be released under an amendment to Ohio's Concealed Carry Law.

It is nice to see a prosecutor not bowing down to the pressure from journalists to release names of CHL holders.

9/25/07: New York, New York: Ohio Man Proposes, Gets Robbed

From the article:

Jacunski, a musician from Cincinnati, got on one knee and popped the question to his girlfriend of six months, Mami Nagase, in a romantic spot at a gazebo in Central Park on Saturday night.

They said she had just agreed to marry him when a gunman jumped from the bushes and yelled, "Give me your money and get on the ground!"

New York City's strict gun laws did not stop a scumbag from robbing this couple at gunpoint.

9/22/07: State Wide: Mansfield Hi-Point Guns Popular With Criminals

From the article:

The weapons used most often in crimes in Cleveland and New York City are stubby pistols made in Mansfield.

They're Hi-Point Firearms. They're cheap, easy to find, and criminals love them.

Hi-Point firearms maybe cheap, but they are often the only firearm that some people can afford. If we outlaw "cheap" guns then people who cannot afford a $400 firearm will be unable to defend themselves.

9/22/07: Washington Township, Ohio: Washington Township Police Need Clues In Theft Of Guns

From the article:

Washington Township police are seeking information about a burglary Sept. 14 in which several high-powered rifles, a shotgun, and several handguns were stolen.

This is one of the ways that criminals obtain guns. They almost NEVER obtain them through legal channels.

9/21/07: Akron, Ohio: Forum In Akron Aims To Cut Gun Violence

From the article:

A public forum, Reducing Gun Violence, will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Main Library Auditorium of the Akron-Summit Public Library on South Main Street in downtown Akron.

Also from the article:

The main speaker is Toby Hoover, executive director of the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence.

Here is your chance to go to a forum that is having a hard core gun grabber as the main speaker and ask her all of the questions that you always wanted to. It won't be hard to make her look like the fool that she is.

9/21/07: State Wide: Police Chiefs Urge Ending Gun-Show Exception To Background Checks

From the article:

Closing a controversial loophole that allows people to buy guns without background checks is one of the recommendations about how to curb firearm violence made by an international police organization.

The statistics have proven that gun shows are NOT a major source of weapons for criminals. It would be a blow to our freedom if a family had to get a NICS check just to hand down a shotgun to the next generation.

9/21/07: Akron, Ohio: Man Arrested More Than 40 Times Faces 23 Years In Prison

From the article:

Karl Varner Jr., 23, faces up to 23 years in prison for attempted murder, felonious assault, domestic violence and violating a protection order. A jury convicted him on Aug. 24.

The conviction is the latest in a career in crime. He has been arrested 41 times since 2002, when he turned 18, Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh said in a news release.

Varner's record also includes gang activity, possession and trafficking in cocaine, carrying a concealed weapon, domestic violence, obstructing official business and criminal damaging.

We need to carry firearms for protection, because of parasites like Verner Jr. It is obvious that the system did not offer any real protection.

9/18/07: Phoenix, Arizona: Freak Shooting Kills Tow Truck Driver

From the article:

An accidentally fired rifle, a passing tow truck and timing combined to unleash a chain of events that left one man dead and residents in a Phoenix neighborhood shaking their heads in disbelief, KPHO-TV reported.

Tow truck driver Cecil Pugh, 59, was transporting a vehicle when he was accidentally shot and killed Monday by a man cleaning his rifle inside his home, investigators said.

WOW! Remember the basic rules of gun safety. Always make sure that the gun is unloaded prior to cleaning it!

9/17/07: Cincinnati (Northside), Ohio: Armed Robbery At UDF

From the article:

A man armed with a handgun robbed the United Dairy Farmers store on Chase Avenue early this morning.

As far as I know, all UDF locations are criminal protection zones, because they post the dangerous "No Guns" signs. When will people learn that the signs only disarm the law-abiding and do not prevent robberies?

9/16/07: Cleveland, Ohio: Police Say Officer's Gun Accidentally Went Off During Stop

From the article:

Police said the officer stopped a suspected stolen car at about 1:30 p.m. at East 123rd Street and Kinsman Avenue, and when the driver ran, the officer's weapon went off.

Guns don't just "go off" unless you pull the trigger. This be a lesson in gun safety for everyone, remember to keep your finger off of the trigger until you are ready to shoot!

9/14/07: Cleveland, Ohio: Man Killed In Overnight Shooting Outside Bar

From the article:

Officials said the shooter approached the victim while he was talking to the owner of the Larkin Tavern.

The shooter asked for some money and then allegedly shot Addsion.

More violence in the city that has declared war on law-abiding gun owners.
