The season for giving - to your favorite pro-gun organizations!

As the year draws to a close, may of us make year end donations. We donate to our church or charities that do good work throughout the year. For those who itemize their Federal tax return, it’s also a way to lower the tax bill.

We have compiled a few organizations that you might want to include in your year-end donations. Not all of these are deductible under IRS rules.

At NRANews.org
Cam Edwards and Company do a great job bring sensible viewpoints to news about gun and hunting related stories. They expose the lies and mistruths so prevalent in the mainstream media, such as the “unbiased” CBS news anchor Mike Wallace partaking in a $250/plate fundraiser for the Brady Campaign. They also expound on all the positive gun related events other media refuses to acknowledge and have covered Ohio news extensively this year. Donate to NRANews.com

NRA-ILA
The NRA-ILA (Institute for Legislative Action) is the branch of the NRA that works to pass good legislation. This month the Ohio Legislature was swamped by phone calls asking them to override a Taft veto. NRA-ILA dollars were spent to ensure we had the votes needed for the override. It’s hard to think of a more appropriate cause to donate to for Ohio residents this year. Donate to NRA-ILA

Editor’s note: NRA has many related organizations. Each of these organizations’ has a specific goal, and NRA membership dues do not support them. They depend on additional donations from people like you to continue their good work.

The Second Amendment Foundation
(SAF) does great work defending the Second Amendment. They spend money on lawsuits successfully fighting cities like New Orleans and San Francisco when they attempt to illegally resister or seize personal firearms. Ohio gun owners could find themselves asking for help in the new year if big city mayors insist on violating our new statewide preemption law. Donations to SAF are tax deductible under IRS rules. Donate to SAF.

U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) was the leader on HB296, which created apprentice hunting licenses in Ohio this year. Over 10,000 apprentice licenses were issued, proving that they understand what hunters want. USSA also works to ensure there is adequate public land available so that each of us may enjoy the out doors. Donate to USSA.

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership
(JPFO) is working to destroy "gun control" and to encourage Americans to understand and defend all of the Bill of Rights for everyone. Donations to JPFO are tax deductible under IRS rules. Donate to JPFO

Your State legislators. If you pay income tax to the State of Ohio, you may direct $50/person ($100/couple) to a candidate for Ohio House, Ohio Senate, or a Statewide office (Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Treasurer and Auditor) Just write a check to their campaign before the end of the year and you will get your $50/100 back in your State income tax check. This is the best value going for your donation – it simply can not be beat.
