Show your support for gun rights at Bowling Green gun control debate Oct. 27

Gun control advocates are hosting a "panel discussion" at the Wood County Library in Bowling Green. And we need YOU to be there to show support for Second Amendment rights.

Michael Temple, a gun rights advocate, NRA Certified Instructor, BFA volunteer, and former professor at the University of Toledo, will be the lone voice of reason representing gun owners.

The panel is stacked against him with 4 gun control advocates ... including a flame-throwing columnist for The Blade, an anti-gun researcher, a former criminology professor, and our old "friend" Toby Hoover, founder of the gun-hating Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence.

Mark your calendar and BE THERE to support Michael and the Second Amendment.

Where: Wood County Public Library
251 N. Main Street
Bowling Green, Ohio 43402

When: Thursday, October 27, 2016
6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

There is no charge to attend. And no registration is required.

Because this so-called "discussion" will take place close to Bowling Green State University, we can expect lots of liberal students to show up. We need to make sure we have some level-headed gun owners there to support Michael and bring some balance to this typically one-sided event.

THIS IS NOT A PROTEST. Please show up dressed neatly and prepared to act respectfully. As always, it is important to demonstrate that gun owners are the good guys. Bring your family and friends.

EVENT INFORMATION: The theme for the evening is "Exploring Ways to End Gun Violence." Here is how the event is described in a press release ...

Violence is causing our families and communities to live in fear. The causes are plentiful and the means accessible. Believing that we all need to be part of the solutions for everyone's safety a dedicated group of advocates - Advocates to End Gun Violence - will host a panel discussion for the community on October 27th. The event will be educational in purpose and format to explore ideas and ways to reduce gun violence and work for a safer society.

Panel members include:
Joe Jacoby, professor emeritus, sociology and criminology, B.G.S.U.
Amy Thompson, PhD, professor Public Health at UT, published researcher
Toby Hoover, founder of the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence
Amjad Hussain, MD and columnist for The Blade
Michael Temple, NRA certified firearms instructor

Goals:
Discuss key gun issues so all can become more well-informed.
Bring the two sides in the gun debate closer together.
Act to make the US less violent and more safe.

Key Themes and Questions:
1. What role does the Second Amendment play in the discussion of gun violence and safety?
2. Is an armed society a safer society?
3. Do we have a culture of violence? If yes, how does gun ownership affect that violence?
4. Chicago has one of the most restricted sets of gun controls in the US and has one of the highest degrees of gun deaths. Why?
5. "The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun." Is that true?
6. Does my Second Amendment right to own guns trump my right to safety? What reasonable restrictions can we place on guns?
7. What can "smart guns" (which work only when fired by their owner) and gun locks do to protect against gun accidents, impulse shootings, and suicide? What would a longer waiting period do?
8. What role do comprehensive background checks and mental health availability play in gun violence? Would enforced gun sales to felons, hate crime perpetrators and those committing domestic violence help keep us safer?
9. How can each of us make our community safer and less violent?

We're not sure if there will be questions or comments from the audience, but be prepared just in case.
