Time is Running Out - Register to Vote!

If you have not voted in the past four years, if you have moved, or if you need to register to vote for some other qualifying reason, please act quickly as you must register no later than 30 days prior to the election. The last day to register to vote for the upcoming March 4th Presidential primary election is February 4, 2008.

Because the number of Ohioans who go to the polls on primary day is significantly lower than in the general election, YOUR PRO-GUN VOTE is vastly more influential in primaries than it is in November.

The primary election this year will be held on March 4th.

In order to vote in the primary, you MUST be registered to vote on or before February 4th (30 days before the election). A little known fact is that a 17 year-old can register and vote in the primary election if they will turn 18 by November 4th, 2008. This is an extremely important and overlooked provision and also a great opportunity to get our young people involved in the process.

You may download, complete, and mail the voter registration application at the Secretary of State election information site. Completed applications must be postmarked no later than February 4, 2008.

Additionally, in the State of Ohio, a person can register to vote at any of the following places:

  • Any County Board of Elections Office
  • Secretary of State’s Office
  • Any Public High School or Vocational School
  • Any Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles Office
  • At any offices of designated agencies that provides disability programs or public assistance
  • Any public library
  • Any County Treasurers’ Office
  • By mail

The Secretary of State’s web site is a great resource, and should answer all of your voting related questions. On the web site, a person can make an online request to have a voter registration form sent to them.

If registered voters are unable to get to the polls on March 4th, they can obtain an Absentee ballot. For more information on Absentee Voting please refer to the Absentee Voting section of the Secretary of State's Voting Information Guide.

Be sure to encourage your fellow Buckeye Firearms Association Defenders and supporters, gun owners, and pro-Second Amendment community to protect their rights by registering and exercising their right to vote on Tuesday, March 4th!
