Cleveland police internal memo: Citizens can openly carry guns in public

WOIO, Cleveland's CBS affiliate, has obtained a memo distributed to all Cleveland police officers advising them on the fact that open carrying a handgun is a legal activity in the state of Ohio.

In 2012, a similar memo was issued to officers in Cincinnati.

Buckeye Firearms Association is pleased to see this accurate analysis of the legality of open carry and issues regarding law enforcement interaction with a person who is openly carrying a firearm. Judging by the number of poor examples of law enforcement response around Ohio in the past, police chiefs across the Buckeye state would do well to distribute this among their staff far and wide.
