Concealed Carry Fashion Show a "tremendous success"

The REALIZE Firearms Awareness Coalition’s Concealed Carry Fashion Show, held Wednesday, September 17th in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, was a tremendous success. The show, held in conjunction with the Northeastern Ohio chapters of A Girl and A Gun, presented the "conceal" aspects of concealed carry of firearms as a walk down the fashion runway. Twelve live models, volunteers from the local A Girl and A gun shooting chapter, walked the runway “strutting their stuff” and "hiding their guns". The 135+ audience members were left to guess where the weapons were hidden while show organizer and Emcee, Amanda Suffecool described the concealed carry products. Spectators could view side screens to discover where the guns were hidden on the body. The purpose was to demonstrate that concealed meant concealed.

Many local and national vendors supplied items designed to conceal a gun anywhere on the female body from ankle to underarm and everywhere in between. Concealment corsets, hip huggers, bra’s, IWB (Inside the waist band) and OWB (outside the waist band) holsters were all in the show. Multiple styles of T-shirts and compression shorts also made their way down the runway. Several purse manufacturers presented their products, with purses ranging from custom manufactured leather to moderately priced fabric. The variety of items showed the options of concealment at any price point to fit your budget, your style and your life.

State Representative Matt Lynch (R) Ohio State Representative, was in attendance and shared his opinions of firearms possession rights, reasons and politics concerning the Second Amendment. Personal defense author and feature speaker Kathy Jackson spoke of the benefits and rationals of firearms possession for personal safety included in her book “The Cornered Cat – A Woman’s Guide to Concealed Carry”.

This novel affair was a great success. Amanda Suffecool, Director of the not-for-profit organization, REALIZE Firearms Awareness Coaliton (REALIZEfac.com), said that she has received many positive responses from folks throughout the area, about the show. Television coverage from the WEWS Cleveland station was picked up in the news feed and ran as human interest story and generated even more positive responses. Reports have it that this story hit the Columbus media and as far away as Portland, Maine.
