Extreme gun makeover with Cerakote by EAC Concepts

Many moons ago, I gifted my brother with a blued, used, cop Sig Sauer P229. It had heavy holster wear on the slide and frame but was practically brand new on the inside. It quickly became his carry pistol, and he loved it so much he gave it a name, which I think my mom is going to use for her next cat. But I digress.

For his combo Xmas/Birthday (no I'm not a skinflint, but both fall so close together they might as well be the same event) I decided to makeover his P229 in Cerakote - slide in Shimmer Gold and frame in Titanium.

Off it went to Jerrod Yost at EAC Concepts. EAC is located in southern Mount Vernon, Ohio just 30 minutes northeast of Polaris and very easy to get to. I dropped the pistol off on a Tuesday and a week and a half later, it was ready to pick up.

Upon inspection, the pistol was transformed from a well-worn front line defensive tool to a downright hot piece of awesome! The pistol truly looks like one of a kind. Total cost of re-beautification hovered around $175. EAC doesn't just do pistols. They can makeover AR/AKs, shotguns, bolt-actions, and even knives.

Because I liked Jerrod's work so much, I decided to drop off my AK and G23 for a new, one-of-a-kind paint job. The G23 has the slide done in Patriot Brown and frame in Magpul Flat Dark Earth. The AK has a base color in the same Magpul Flat Dark Earth with a mesh-camo pattern of Magpul Olive Drab Green and Patriot Brown.

For you gear heads, I gave him a Krebs Custom Flash Hider, Krebs Custom Safety/Selector, a Midwest Industry railed fore grip, and a US Palm AK pistol grip. All this furniture was Cerakoted in my stated color and installed as part of the makeover.

EAC Concepts will be doing some pro-bono work on some of the firearms we will be auctioning off at our 2014 Buckeye Bash on April 5th. I hope to see you all there because the proceeds go towards our FASTER program that gets teachers active killer training to help them protect our kids.
