Four BFA-Supported Bills Advance in House Committee

On Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, the Ohio House Government Oversight Committee heard testimony on four BFA-supported bills.

The committee heard opponent and interested party testimony on Senate Bill 215, sponsored by Sen. Terry Johnson, for Constitutional Carry. This was the bill's third hearing in this committee. This bill continues to advance rapidly and may be scheduled for a committee vote soon, whereupon it would then head to the House floor for a final vote.

SB 215 has already passed the Senate. If it passes the House, it would then be presented to the Governor for his signature.

The committee also heard sponsor testimony from Sen. Kristina Roegner on Senate Bill 156 (Knife Preemption), held a third hearing for proponent, opponent, and interested party testimony on House Bill 455 (Avoiding Charges for Carrying in Prohibited Places) sponsored by Rep. Reggie Stoltzfus, and held a second hearing for for proponent testimony on Senate Bill 185 (Limiting Government Power During Emergencies) sponsored by Sen. Tim Schaffer.

Buckeye Firearms Association presented testimony in support of SB 185. BFA previously testified in favor of SB 215 and HB 455.

We want to thank Committee Chairman Shane Wilkin for his continued dedication to move these and other bills to protect and advance the Second Amendment rights of Ohio citizens.
