Armed churchgoers prevent mass attack as Michigan lawmakers plot more gun control

Just over an hour away from the state capitol in Lansing, Michigan — even as lawmakers worked feverishly to pass various gun control measures, including expansion of “gun free” zones — a chilling reminder unfolded of the critical need to fight for the rights of law-abiding citizens to arm themselves for self-protection anywhere they have a legal right to be.

Pro-gun language stripped from reconciliation bill, put back in - sort of

Late Friday night, Republicans introduced new watered-down text to the reconciliation bill, trying to satisfy the Senate parliamentarian’s view on the Byrd rule. The new text will keep short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, any other weapons, and suppressors under the National Firearms Act of 1934 but would reduce the tax stamp fee to $0.
