Home invasion suspect shot and killed by resident

Cleveland media are reporting that a home invasion ended badly for a man who chose to force his way into a home looking for his former girlfriend.

From WEWS (ABC Cleveland):

Witnesses at the scene said 35-year-old Antonio L. Sanford forced his way into a residence in the 1100 block of East 78th Street, looking for his ex-girlfriend. Once inside, there was a struggle with the man who lived at the home—45-year-old Carlos Corbin.

During the struggle, police said, the intruder was shot in the chest.

According to the reports, the accused home invader was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Under Ohio's Castle Doctrine law, if someone unlawfully enters or attempts to enter an occupied home or temporary habitation, or occupied car, citizens have an initial presumption that they may act in self defense, and will not be second-guessed by the State.
