The information war against your Second Amendment rights has begun!

War has been declared against gun owners. And Michael Bloomberg, George Soros, and the Obama administration are leading the charge!

Stung with defeat after defeat by U.S. Courts in recent years, these wealthy and powerful elitists have decided that they can't win the debate. So rather than admit the truth, they've decided to CHANGE the truth.

They're pouring hundreds of millions of dollars (including your tax dollars) into bogus “public health studies.” Academic scholars in major universities are being paid to produce evidence that we need MORE GUN CONTROL.

Enlisting the enthusiastic help of left-leaning reporters, these misleading studies serve as ammunition for the media to fire at gullible, low-information voters and scare them into supporting the same, tired gun control laws that have been tested and disproved again and again over decades.

Their goal isn't to reduce crime. After all, they've been cringing as overall crime has dropped steadily while gun ownership has skyrocketed. Their goal is the erosion and eventual destruction of your natural and Constitutional rights.

In response, Dr. John Lott, author of More Guns, Less Crime, along with Board Members Ted Nugent (musician) and Brad Thor (NYT Best Selling Author), has announced the formation of the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC). And Dr. Lott needs your help to make it a success.

The CPRC will conduct original, fact-based research on crime and gun ownership, including topics such as Stand Your Ground laws, concealed carry, assault weapons bans, magazine size, and gun control legislation. A Rapid Response Team will use this research to quickly respond to anti-gun, agenda-driven media propaganda and make sure the truth is heard loud and clear by those willing to listen to reason and see reality for what it is.

But here's the catch …

While the anti-gun, anti-freedom zealots have billionaires to fund their propaganda, there is no one with pockets deep enough to single-handedly fund the CPRC. So Dr. Lott needs your help.

While the CPRC needs millions long-term, they are seeking just $200,000 to get this vital project off the ground. Matching dollar-for-dollar funds have been pledged, so for every $1 of your support, a matching dollar will be provided to the CPRC to raise $400,000. These funds will be used to pay for a small research and public relations staff to monitor and shoot down false claims before they become entrenched in the public mind as “fact.”

Exactly how are Bloomberg and his cronies waging an information war against your rights with bogus studies? Here's just one recent example.

In January of 2014, ABC devoted hours of broadcast time to discuss a new “study” published in the Pediatric Journal. ABC created footage and scripts specifically aimed at scaring people into not owning guns. Here are a few quotes from the special report portion of the coverage:

Diane Sawyer: “Every hour a child is rushed to the emergency room because of gun shots.”

David Muir: “Looking at children and guns, the most recent statistics from 2009. And take a look tonight, they are eyeopening. The new numbers are arresting. . . . . 7,391 children rushed to the hospital every year because of those gun injuries, so often accidents in the home. 453 of those children die at the hospital. . . .”

It sounds horrible, doesn't it? All those “children” being hurt and killed in “accidents.”

But hold on. Did anyone actually dig into those numbers to see what they are really telling us? Dr. Lott did. And here is what he discovered:

According to the Centers for Disease Control, about 80% of these firearm injuries are related to violent crime, not accidents or self harm. Overwhelmingly, it is 17, 18, and 19 year olds who are involved, not young “children” as the ABC program suggests. In addition, those caught up in this violence are overwhelmingly involved with gangs, particularly drug gangs!

That certainly isn't what ABC wanted you to believe, is it? Instead of innocent children dying, what's really going on is drug dealers and violent criminals killing each other.

So, given the facts, draconian new gun laws imposed on average families won't have any effect will they? The gang bangers and crack heads murdering each other don't buy guns legally and don't obey any other gun laws. So what's the point of all the hand wringing about gun loopholes, safe storage, one gun a month restrictions, and the rest?

Simple. It's just a clever way to use illogical, emotional appeals to influence public opinion, strongarm politicians who don't dare oppose protecting the “children,” and impose more and more gun control to further the left's philosophical agenda.

Not only will new gun laws have no effect on this violence, they will actually make the problem worse … because disarming law-abiding citizens removes the only effective means of self defense we have against violent criminals!

Why help Dr. Lott? Because he's the best person for the job. In Forbes magazine, none other than Nobel prize winning economist Milton Friedman is quoted as saying, “John Lott has few equals as a perceptive analyst of controversial public policy issues.”

Which is a lofty way of saying that no one knows more about the statistical truth about guns than Dr. Lott. He's looked more deeply and more honestly at the numbers than anyone in history and has discovered conclusively that the common assumption that more guns create more crime is absolutely and provably false, not just in the United States, but in other countries around the world.

Rocker Ted Nugent, says what we at Buckeye Firearms Association have been saying since the first time we read the groundbreaking book, More Guns, Less Crime: “John Lott is my academic hero."

Fox News political commentator Sean Hannity remarks on another of Lott's books, “If you want the truth the anti-gunners don't want you to know... you need a copy of The Bias Against Guns.”

And if I haven't yet convinced you to support Dr. Lott, let me put it as simply as I can … IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO. Because truth matters. Because our freedom matters. Because our guns rights are American rights. And if we stand silent while the arrogant Bloombergs of the world attack the Second Amendment, we are just as guilty as Bloomberg himself.

Dr. Lott is asking for your help. I am asking to you to answer that call.
