My Two Cents In A Multi-Million Dollar Campaign For President

By John Longenecker

Something for non-gun owner voters to understand about candidates' views on guns and a new ticket...a real new ticket.

The subject came up in the Democrat Convention, 2008.

The Democrat view of banning guns will never touch crime, because it focuses on the iron and not the behavior of criminals. It profoundly ties the hands of victims to respond, and this results in scarring injuries numbering in the millions each year. Please visit www.FBI.gov for precise figures on crimes by type, by type of weapon used, and, of course, numbers of gun-related deaths.

At the Democrat Convention, and in the discussion of automatic weapons, Senator Patrick Kennedy remarked that 30,000 people die from gun violence.

Mr. Kennedy, America does not see 30,000 gun deaths every year, much less by fully automatic weapons. America sees about 10,177 total gun deaths in 2006 and every year on the average over the last decade and largely – here it comes, wait for it – crime-on-crime shootings. These are not shootings from lawful gun owners, such as your constituents, they are shootings in Crime.

More than ten years ago, when approached by news reporters for a comment on a possible conflict of reported information, then Clinton Spokesperson George Stephanopolous answered, "Well, we had to get elected."

Has anything changed for the Dems? Say anything?

We had been saying the past month that the Democrat Candidate does not do well off teleprompter. Well, now they're not so hot on teleprompter, either, if they feel the need to exaggerate figures to move voters. The move on guns is not the same as a move on crime, as gun control has never worked to stop violence, but has worked rather well to stop response to it. This grows crime and it maintains an evergreen issue for the Dems. This is not right.

Let me mention something about Senator John McCain which can discredit the argument that his election would be another four years of Bush, another exaggeration of the Democrat Party...:

Let me point out that Senator John McCain is not an oil man, he is his own man.

This bugs the Hell out of Liberals. It even annoys some colleagues, but if you're looking for change, perhaps a Maverick is just what we need.

Not an oil man, but his own man.

He would be good for the country.

And guess who else would be good for the country? Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as Vice-President. Wow, what a ticket!

A lady who's mother of five, one about to be deployed, she's fought corruption, and she's her own woman.

Now, that's going to be good for the country!
