Buckeye Firearms Association Announces Endorsements in GOP gubernatorial primary
Buckeye Firearms Association is pleased to announce our co-endorsement of Ken Blackwell and Jim Petro for the office of Governor in the 2006 Republican primary.
Since 2002, this political action committee has been striving to help pro-gun voters make informed choices between candidates in races where there is clearly a better choice for gun owners. In the past few elections, there have been several races where neither candidate received a singular endorsement, because they were equal supporters of firearm rights. Our donors were encouraged to make their choice based on other matters which were important to them.
As previous articles at www.BuckeyeFirearms.org have shown, we are fortunate to have such a case in the 2006 Republican primary race for Governor. Through many in-depth discussions with the campaigns, it became increasingly clear that, based on this PAC's single issue, we are again blessed with two well-qualified candidates. We are confident that both of these gentlemen are true friends of gun owners who understand the importance of self-defense, hunting and sport shooting. Jim Petro and Ken Blackwell can be counted on to use their leadership to further the rights of gun owners by working with the legislature to improve our laws.
Ohio gun owners would benefit greatly from having either Secretary of State Ken Blackwell or Attorney General Jim Petro as Ohio’s next Governor, and we are proud to award our endorsement to both of these fine candidates.
