MEMORIAL DAY 2024: In 1788, Ohio law required ALL men aged 16-50 to bear arms

On July 25, 1788, the first Ohio law to establish and regulate a militia was published in Marietta. It mandated all men between 16 and 50 perform military duty. They were required to arm themselves with a musket and bayonet, a cartridge box, powder horn, one pound of powder and four pounds of lead.

On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, Buckeye Firearms Association provided testimony in favor of Senate Bill 32. This bill seeks to grant civil immunity to a person who acts in self-defense or to protect the members or guests of a nonprofit corporation under certain circumstances.

Anti-gun Democrats (again) unable to hide contempt for ordinary Americans

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) suffered another defeat in a federal Texas district court. This time, U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the ATF. This ruling prevented the bureau from enforcing its new rule on who needs a federal firearms license (FFL) to sell a gun.
