CLEVELAND -- Security has been increased in the parking lot of a downtown building after a woman was reportedly sexually assaulted Tuesday evening in the parking garage of her office building, reported NewsChannel5.

Huntington Building officials said they have informed all tenants about the incident and have increased security staff, who will escort female workers to their cars.

According to police, the woman was leaving work, and was in the elevator of the Huntington Building parking garage, when a man allegedly followed her off the elevator.

He reportedly told her not to scream and forced her to walk to her car. He also reportedly had a small-caliber, semi-automatic weapon.

Police said the man sexually assaulted the woman in her car, took her purse and fled the scene. She waited until he was gone, then went back into the office building and reported the incident to security.

The victim's vehicle has been towed for evidence; her purse was later found on the scene, without credit cards or cash.
