5/5/07:East Toledo, Ohio: Police Looking For Tips On East Toledo Robbery

From the article:

The manager of the East Side Mini Mart, 615 Oak St., was walking toward his vehicle about 2:45 p.m. Jan. 22 when he was attacked and struck in the head several times with a ratchet handle.

Another robbery in a very anti-gun city. Thankfully, some bystanders came to the rescue of the victim.

5/4/07: National: NRA: Don't Ban Gun Sales To Suspects

From the article:

The National Rifle Association is urging the Bush administration to withdraw its support of a bill that would prohibit suspected terrorists from buying firearms. Backed by the Justice Department, the measure would give the attorney general the discretion to block gun sales, licenses or permits to terror suspects.

Also from the article:

"As many of our friends in law enforcement have rightly pointed out, the word 'suspect' has no legal meaning, particularly when it comes to denying constitutional liberties," Cox wrote.

Whatever happened to innocent to proven guilty? What about all of the people who cannot fly or have trouble flying, because they were accidently placed on a "Do Not fly List" or they have a similiar name as someone on the list.

5/4/07: Columbus, Ohio: Police: Gunman On Loose After Shooting Store Clerk

From the article:

Columbus police are searching for a gunman after a convenience store clerk was shot and killed on the city's east side late Friday morning.

Another violent criminal is on the lose whose crime was not prevented or stopped by the police. This is exactly while we need to protect our right to keep and bear arms.

5/3/07: Athens, Ohio: Ohio University Suspends Student Who Brought Gun To Campus

From the article:

Alarmed over a student's apparent carrying of a handgun and unsafe flying of airplanes, Ohio University President Roderick McDavis today suspended the aviation student.

The unidentified male student allegedly has brought a gun and knife into classrooms and onto airport property, committed an assault and threatened students and staff, McDavis said.

Only the law-abiding are disarmed by "gun free zones." We need to make it legal for students and faculty to carry concealed handguns for protection while on campus.

5/3/07: Cleveland, Ohio: 2 Gun Scares Occur At Cleveland High School

From the article:

Two incidents involving weapons at a Cleveland High School had students on edge Thursday.

Enough is enough. It is time that we allow teachers to carry concealed handguns at school for protection of themselves and the students.

5/2/07: Cleveland, Ohio: No One Injured As Shots Fired Outside Cleveland School

From the article:

No one was injured this afternoon when someone fired a gun outside an East Side Cleveland elementary school, police said.

This couldn't have happened, because schools are "gun free zones. Thats right, so-called "gun free zones" only disarm the law-abiding!

5/2/07: Cleveland, Ohio: Prosecutors Charge Teen With Murder In Controversial Death

From the article:

Prosecutors also charged Mardale Williams Wednesday with two counts of aggravated robbery and several gun-related charges. Authorities say Williams and Buford were together on April 21, trying to rob Damon Wells when the 25-year-old, who has a permit to carry a concealed weapon, pulled out his gun and shot Buford.

Hopefully, Mr. Wells will get to put this incident behind him and the someone will tear down the "shrine" that was erected in honor of the armed robber.

4/30/07: Reno, Neveda: A Gun Show Without Guns?

From the article:

After reading an advertisement for a Reno, NV gun show in a firearms magazine, William D. Maniaci, owner of Maccabee Arms LTD (www.MaccabeeArms.com) purchased two tables for the event, which was to be held at the Boomtown Hotel and Casino. Like many firearms dealers, he invested heavily in stock to be sold at the show.

Last week he received a letter stating that “In light of the recent unfortunate incident at Virginia Tech”, firearms would not be allowed to be displayed or sold at the show.

Thanks to the JPFO for bringing attention to the anti-gun mentality of Boomtown Hotel and Casino.
