There are more stories pertaining to our gun rights in Ohio then we can possibly draw attention to with individual daily commentary. But they are all worthy of mention.

What follows is our review of headlines from around the state though a pro-gun rights lens.

From a man shot at a gas station to another bank robbery at the antigun Fifth Third Bank, these articles should be a part of your required reading!

12/6/08: Maple Heights, Ohio: Man Killed While Visiting Friend At Gas Station

Police are investigating the Saturday night shooting death of a Maple Heights man.

Always be prepared to defend yourself, because violence can erupt anywhere at anytime.

12/6/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Pizza Hut Delivery Man Shot After Making Stop

From the article:

Cleveland police are looking for two men who shot and robbed a Pizza Hut delivery driver Saturday night.

Pizza Hut forbids their drivers from carrying a firearm for self-defense and fires their drivers who use a firearm for self-defense. This incident proves exactly why pizza shops like Pizza Hut should allow their drivers to carry.

12/3/08: Gallipolis, Ohio: Sheriff: Man Shot During Home Invasion

The sheriff’s office says it happened shortly after midnight on Clay Lick Road. They say that after the suspects broke into the home, they brandished a weapon at the homeowner. Investigators say the homeowner was able to get a shotgun and shoot one of the suspects in the shoulder. Both suspects were able to flee the scene.

Thankfully, the homeowner was armed and able to defend himself from the thugs who invaded his home.

12/3/08: Steubenville, Ohio: Wal-Mart Shopper Finds Gun In Cart

Police said a Wal-Mart shopper found and took a gun left behind in a shopping cart.

Investigator said a man with a concealed carry permit forgot the .40 caliber Glock in the cart Wednesday afternoon.

How in the world do you accidently leave a gun in a shopping cart? That is pure negligence that endangered lives.

12/3/08: Akron, Ohio: Man Fatally Shot During Parking Lot Altercation

Akron police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Wednesday in the parking lot of a check-cashing business.

Another violent crime rocks the city of Akron. With stories like this, is there even a question of why we need to carry?

12/3/08: State Wide: Ohio Hunters Start Season Taking 70 Percent More Deer

From the article:

The state Division of Wildlife said the tally was up 70 percent compared with the first day last year. The agency said hunters were hampered by heavy rain at the start of the 2007 season, while Monday was breezy with only occasional rain or snow across the state.

It looks like this hunting season is off to a great start.

12/3/08: Sheffield, Ohio: Authorities Search For Sheffield Bank Robber

From the article:

Authorities are looking for a man who robbed a bank in Sheffield Wednesday. The robbery occurred at 12:20 p.m. at the Fifth-Third Bank on Abbey Road.

Another bank robbery at a Fifth Third Bank. All Fifth Third Banks are posted with "no-guns" signs, which makes them criminal protection zones.
