12/18/07: Fairlawn, Ohio: Pregnant Woman Falls While Running From Carjackers

From the article:

There were some scary moments for a local woman after she was carjacked in the Summit Mall parking lot in Akron.

Becky Jacobs, who is six months pregnant with her second child, said a man and a woman approached her and pulled a gun on her before she could get out of her car at about 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Carjackings and other violent crimes can happen anywhere, even is "safe" cities like Fairlawn. That is why we should always be prepared to protect ourselves, and our families.

12/17/07: Akron, Ohio: Teen Shot, Killed During Home Invasion

From the article:

A teenager was shot and killed and a woman was injured during a home invasion Saturday night.

Home invasions seem to be happening more and more. We must fight for our right to be able in defend ourselves in our own homes without the fear of criminal charges or civil lawsuits.

12/17/07: Cleveland, Ohio: Man Shot In Head While In Garage

From the article:

Police said a Cleveland man was shot in the head in his garage Sunday night.

Officers said Dale Morgan, 43, was approached by a man who showed a gun and asked for all his money.

It looks like another violent crime rocks the City of Cleveland while they are to busy trying to trample on the Second Amendment rights of its citizens.

12/15/07: Cleveland, Ohio: Police Say Robber Shot, Killed 16-Year-Old

From the article:

Investigators said someone robbed Richardson and a 14-year-old boy at gunpoint near East 108th Street and Tacoma. When the boys started running, police said, the robber shot and killed Richardson.

Yet another example of what happens when Cleveland wastes time going after law-abiding gun owners instead of real criminals.

12/13/07: Lorain and Erie Counties, Ohio: Burglars Target Rural Homes In Lorain, Erie Counties

From the article:

Residents of the western side of Lorain County and eastern side of Erie County are being asked to watch for suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office says there have been multiple daytime house burglaries in Erie and Lorain counties that appear to be connected.

Also from the article:

Detectives say the same method has been used to enter each home. The homes have been ransacked and the same items -- jewelry, cash and electronics -- have been stolen.

The burglaries are happening in the mornings, just after the families have gone to work and school. They are happening in rural areas "due to the relative isolation of the homes from neighboring residences."

Always practice basic crime prevention techniques even if you live in the country. If you are not sure of ways to prevent crime, consider taking a "Refuse To Be A Victim" class from the NRA.

12/13/07: Plain Township, Ohio: Burglar Comes Face-To-Face With Gun-Toting Homeowner

From the article:

A Plain Township man, who broke into a Canton home, was cornered by an armed homeowner and then chased away, Stark County Jail records said.

Also from the article:

Stark County Court records said Perez was arrested and then released on his own recognizance later Wednesday.

While it is great to see a homeowner fighting back, it really is aggravating that the suspected burglar was able to be released on his own recognizance.

12/12/07: Tulsa, Oklahoma: Sleeping Man Awakens, Shoots Intruder

From the article:

A man shot a teenage intruder tonight who he said broke into his Tulsa apartment, which has no power, police said.

Homeowners are tired of being victims and are starting to fight back.

12/12/07: Cleveland, Ohio: Police Searching For Gun At Cleveland School

From the article:

Students are being kept in their classrooms during the search. Police were called at 10 a.m., when students reported seeing a gun in someone's waistband.

The report could be an attempt to avoid test-taking, a dispatcher quipped.

When are we going to take the threat of school shooting seriously and allow teachers to arm themselves? Also, the dispatcher's comments is an excellent example of Cleveland's apathy to crime.
