11/11/07: Columbus, Ohio: Ohio Colleges Issuing Blitz Of Crime Alerts

From the article:

University officials say don't worry: the recent rash of crime alerts just means campuses are doing a better job of reporting incidents.

Be a good little sheep and don't worry...we'll protect you just like we protected everyone at Virginia Tech.

Also from the article:

Since school began this fall, Ohio State University has issued six alerts, including two about armed robberies near campus. Miami University has sent eight.

It is time that we fight to allow students, teachers, and faculty to legally carry their firearms for protection while on campus.

11/10/07: Portland, Oregon: Judge: Teacher Has No Right To Carry Gun

From the article:

An high school English teacher who wanted to take her semiautomatic handgun onto school grounds has no right to do so, a judge said Friday.

Shirley Katz, 44, has a concealed weapons permit and claimed a right to carry a handgun at South Medford High School in Medford, to defend against intruders or her former husband.

When are we going to finally accept the fact that "Gun Free Zones" do not protect our children and only make them more vulnerable. Even though the outcome was not what we wanted, we would like to commend Katz for fighting for her rights.

11/10/07: Cleveland, Ohio: 421 Guns Turned In City's Buyback Program

From the article:

About 421 guns were turned in Saturday in Slavic Village, a Cleveland neighborhood that has been battling a crime wave.

It is well known that "Gun Buyback Programs" do NOT lower crime, because violent criminals are not turning in their weapons. However, do not be surprised if there is a drop in crime during the next few months, and the City gives credit to the program. Cleveland usually sees a drop in crime during the winter!

11/9/07: Cleveland, Ohio: City To Host Toy Gun Buyback This Weekend

From the article:

While the city holds a gun buyback program on Saturday, it will also host a toy gun buyback program for the children.

What a stupid idea! This is just a waste of time that keeps us from focusing on the real causes of crime in Cleveland.

11/9/07: Cleveland, Ohio: 17-Year-Old Found Dead Outside Home

From the article:

With almost two months to go in the year, Cleveland has registered its 119th homicide, tying the number for all of 2006.

Also from the article:

Police said the number of guns on the street may be one reason for the spike in homicides.

More violence in the City that declared war on law-abiding gun owners. When will the city figure out that "Guns on the street" is not the reason for the spike in homicides? Some of the real reasons is the City's failure to enforce the law and the failure to lock up violent offenders.

11/7/07: Nation Wide: Report Looks At Gun Shows Nationwide

From the article:

The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence and its Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence released a report Tuesday entitled "America's Gun Shows: Open Markets for Criminals."

The groups said in a news release that the shows "are still a primary venue for criminals and other prohibited purchasers to obtain guns without undergoing background checks."

It shouldn't surprise you that that the media ran with an article that promotes the agenda on an anti-gun group. Their claim that gun shows are a primary venue for criminals to obtain guns contradicts the information from real law enforcement organizations, who state that they are not a major source of guns used in crime.

11/7/07: Lodi, Ohio: Threat Closes Local High School

From the article:

High school students in the Cloverleaf Local School District in Westfield Township did not have classes on Wednesday after threatening graffiti was found on a restroom wall.

It is time that we finally allow teachers and staff to carry their legal firearms while at school.

11/5/07: Cleveland, Ohio: Shooting Takes Place On East Side

Cleveland police said a shooting took place Monday afternoon on the city's east side.

The shooting took place at a convenience store located at East 93rd Street and Anderson..

Even more violence erupts on the streets of Cleveland while they are busy attacking the law-abiding gun-owners instead of violent criminals.
