Training workshop for new Ohio Hunter Education Instructors to be held at Wildlife District Three in Akron

AKRON, OH – Northeast Ohio sportsmen and women who are interested in becoming Hunter Education Instructors are encouraged to register for an upcoming training workshop in Akron according to the Ohio Division of Wildlife. The workshop will take place on Saturday, October 31st and Sunday, November 1st, 2009. Attendance is required on both dates to become certified.

The workshop will be held at the Wildlife District Three Office located at 912 Portage Lakes Drive in Akron from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. Those interested in attending must register by calling 1-800-WILDLIFE (945-3543).

Individuals must complete a volunteer instructor-training workshop in order to become certified hunter education instructors. They must also be at least 18 years of age and have successfully completed a hunter education course. Ohio currently has over 1,600 volunteer instructors who train hunters, especially young hunters, to be safe and responsible in the field.
