Barack Obama – Ideologically Anti-gun

Of all the social issues facing America today, few expose a person’s political ideology more definitively than whether someone is anti-gun. That makes Barack Obama’s attempt to fool gun owners by painting himself as a defender of the 2nd Amendment easy to see for what it is – someone trying to lie their way to the presidency.

His claim that he won’t work to destroy the right to bear arms also falls flat, not only because of his past record, but on ideological grounds as well. Obama will work to destroy gun rights because his leftist socialist agenda compels him to destroy anything that gives an individual power at the expense of the government.

Being a pro-abortion, tax-and-spend liberal is in Obama’s soul. It defines him as a person and is reflected in all of his policies.

There is also no difference between advocating gun control and advocating third trimester abortions, or abortions for minors without parental consent. They are all part of the same disgusting predisposition to devalue life. That means he doesn’t value life enough to believe in the right to self-defense through the use of a gun, and allows him to think an individual life is subservient to the power of the state.

By extension, it is also impossible to be pro-life and anti-gun because if you believe in the sanctity of innocent life, it means all life is sacred, not just life still in the womb. Defending innocent life from predators in society is the main reason societal norms were established when mankind was still trying to put itself out of the mud. Equality of life and the right to be personally secure are unbreakable covenants that define societal success.

Obama could care less about such a covenant due to his government first, individual second view of the world.

When an innocent person is attacked violently it creates another crack in the societal compact created by free people. Violence against the innocent is unacceptable in a free society, and the best tool ever devised for self-defense is the firearm. Although in America today the handgun is the dominate self-defense gun of choice, historically, it was the long gun that changed the world.

To paraphrase one of the best known pro-gun advocates of all time, Marine Colonel Jeff Cooper, when you give someone a rifle they stop being a subject and become a citizen.

Obama’s leftist agenda has no place for citizen’s and instead relies on the willingness of people to be subjects.

Cooper’s assessment also furthers the belief that guns are not a fringe issue, although the traditional media does everything possible to relegate the public debate to the back burner. Pro-gun advocates, who are definitively in the mainstream of American opinion, won’t let that happen because of how important freedom is to the American experiment.

The attempt by the Obama campaign to portray him as a pro-gun and pro-hunting centrist is further proof that guns matter. If it was a fringe issue Obama wouldn’t be revising his personal history in an attempt to hide his anti-gun past. Obama’s actions force the hand of pro-freedom and pro-gun advocates who are compelled to expose his duplicitous ways.

Like a child imagining monsters under the bed in the dark, Barack Obama and his leftist friends imagine non-existent rights they claim are as important as the freedom of religion, freedom of the press, and freedom of speech. Then they use the courts to foist their mythical rights on the American people yet, they refuse to protect the right to bear arms which was granted by the Creator and affirmed in the Constitution.

There is plenty of evidence in Obama’s limited record to prove he is anti-gun, regardless of his spin on the issue. Past performance is a great indicator of future performance, so pro-gun advocates have a legitimate reason to fear an Obama presidency.

Taking a hard look at Obama’s ideological make-up furthers the belief that he is incapable of changing his leftist ways, which are part of his very soul. I don’t know who originally coined the phrase, but Obama can best be described as knowing the pro-gun words, but not knowing the music. That makes it easy to see that his words say one thing, but the lack of conviction ultimately gives away his true intentions.

He can’t devalue life and believe in using guns to defend the sanctity of life at the same time. He can’t try to make people subservient to the state through leftist polices while proclaiming his support of the individual right to bear arms, and he can’t expect to fool pro-gun advocates with his election year conversion.

Anyone can fool people by saying the right words, but a glimpse into Obama’s leftist ideological beliefs on other issues exposes his true view on guns. It’s why anyone who values the right to bear arms, or for that matter the right to life, can’t expect Obama to stay true to his campaign rhetoric.

It’s also the obligation of pro-gun advocates to expose his morally abhorrent beliefs, and his equally morally bankrupt attempt to hide them from honest Americans.
