Mock disaster training exercise in Scioto County pits school employees/Second Amendment advocates as "terrorists"
by Chad D. Baus
Recently, WSAZ (NBC Huntingon/Charleston, WV) reported recently that Scioto Co., OH held a mock disaster drill in conjunction with Scioto County first responders and the Ohio Army National Guard 52nd Civil Support Unit.
The training exercise's mock "enemy?" Second Amendment advocates.
From the article:
A dead science teacher, weapons of mass destruction, first responders in hazmat suits and the Ohio Army National Guard all near the Municipal Stadium in Portsmouth, Thursday. There's no cause for alarm -- this is just a drill!
The mock disaster training exercise is being done with Scioto County first responders and the Ohio Army National Guard 52nd Civil Support Unit.
"It's the reality of the world we live in," says Portsmouth Police Chief Bill Raisin. "Don't forget there is such a thing as domestic terrorism. This helps us all be prepared."
The make-believe scenario is timely. Two school employees who are disgruntled over the government's interpretation of the Second Amendment, plot to use chemical, biological and radiological agents against members of the local community.
Really? A "timely" scenario depicting Second Amendment advocates as terrorists is the "reality of the world we live in?" And isn't it interesting that this "timely" scenario depicting school employees as potential threats occurs in the midst of a major national push to arm teachers and other school employees to defend against mass murderers who are killing our kids?
It is a scary day indeed when law enforcement are being trained that Second Amendment advocates are the enemy.
Shame on Portsmouth Fire Chief Bill Raisin, Director of the Scioto County Emergency Management Agency Kim Carver, the Ohio Army National Guard (OANG), 52nd Civil Support Unit and anyone else who had a hand in writing the training exercise to depict lovers of our Constitution, and in particular our Second Amendment freedoms, as domestic terrorists.
