CCW Ban ''unconstitutional'', but who's telling?: Ohio News Blackout Pt. II

Those who have been following the "Klein et. al. v. Leis et. al" lawsuit in Hamilton County (for which Ohioans For Concealed Carry is a funding co-plaintiff), will recall that in the days following the concurrent ruling on appeal, a virtual media blackout occurred across the state.

The Los Angeles Times and FOX News Channel provided more coverage of the 1st District Court of Appeals' unanimous unconstitutionality ruling than many of Ohio's media outlets.

So in the wake of the fifth Ohio judge to rule that the concealed carry ban is unconstitutional, we've been wondering if the media would improve their reporting on this growing legal crisis.

For a list of newspapers which have largely ignored this important Ohio story, click on the "Read More..." link below.

In the days that followed the ruling, the following urban newspapers have chosen to black out the story (including coverage of the denied stay motion):

• Akron Beacon Journal
• Cleveland Plain Dealer (buried 2 paragraphs of orig. ruling deep in paper/ no coverage of stay request denial)
• Columbus Dispatch
• Dayton Daily News
• Youngstown Vindicator

It bears noting that each of the above newspapers have published multiple editorials in the past twelve months denouncing the passage of a concealed carry law in our state.
