Letter to the Editor: There’s proof that concealed-carry laws reduce crime

The Canton Repository, which has printed editorials and op-ed columns favoring concealed carry reform, has printed another pro-CCW letter to the editor.

"The comments in the March 21 letter “Concealed-carry law will do more harm than good” are a perfect example of people influenced by these people that pick figures out of the air and expect us to believe them.

The truth is that wherever the concealed-carry law is passed, crime is reduced by a considerable amount.

The reason is that criminals hesitate to accost someone because he might have a weapon to protect himself, and would use it. It has been proven the concealed-carry law reduces crime.

It’s also interesting to note that hundreds of times people have used their own weapons to keep from being assaulted or robbed. It’s a shame the news media choose to ignore these incidents.
