Armed woman detains four men outside her apartment after intoxicated male attempts to gain entry

The Scioto Post reported recently that a woman was able to utilize a firearm to protect her two young children, herself and another female when an intoxicated male tried to gain entry into her apartment.

Officers responded to E Canal St for a report of a person with a gun. Officers arrived to find multiple individuals arguing in front of C Building Apartments.

Four individuals were given directives at gun point to lay on the ground in the prone position. Officers immediately began asking questions to determine who had the firearm.

After interviewing individuals on scene, it was determined that the firearm was grabbed by a female to protect her two young children, herself and another female after an intoxicated male was demanding to be let into her apartment and tried forcing himself through her door.

According to the article, a man named Robert Waddell was arrested and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

Under Ohio's Castle Doctrine law, if someone unlawfully enters or attempts to enter an occupied home or temporary habitation, or occupied car, citizens have an initial presumption that they may act in self defense, and will not be second-guessed by the State.
