These are bills which, as currently written, reduce firearm regulations and expand Second Amendment rights.

HB 5 - RESTORE RIGHTS OF NON-VIOLENT OFFENDERS (Sponsors: Josh Williams, Bernard Willis) To crack down on repeat felons and restore rights for non-violent offenders who have paid their debt to society and have lived a productive life.

HB 68 - ALLOW CONCEALED CARRY IN GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS (Sponsors: Adam Mathews, Justin Pizzulli) To allow a concealed handgun licensee to carry a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance in a building or structure that is not a courthouse.

HB 108 - ENACT THE SELF-DEFENSE PROTECTION ACT (Sponsor: Josh Williams) To create a pretrial procedure for a person asserting self-defense, defense of another, or defense of that person's property.

HB 120 - EXEMPT FIREARM SAFETY DEVICES FROM SALES TAX (Sponsors: Darnell Brewer, Jennifer Gross) To exempt from sales and use tax sales of firearm safety devices.

HB 126 - PROHIBIT CERTAIN PUBLIC NUISANCE ACTIONS (Sponsors: Adam Mathews, Meredith Craig) To prohibit public nuisance actions concerning product liability. NOTE: This state-level bill, though not specific to gun or ammunition manufacturers, is similar in nature to the federal Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. HB 126 states that no person or government may bring a public nuisance claim alleging that the design, manufacture, supply, marketing, distribution, promotion, advertising, labeling, or sale of a product unreasonably interferes with a right common to the general public.

HB 235 - AUTHORIZE A TAX CREDIT FOR HANDGUN TRAINING AND FIREARMS STORAGE (Sponsors: Meredith Lawson, Darnell Brewer) To authorize a nonrefundable income tax credit for the cost of handgun training and firearms storage and locking devices.

HB 330 - AUTHORIZE A SALES TAX HOLIDAY FOR FIREARM SAFETY, STORAGE DEVICES (Sponsors: Kellie Deeter, Tex Fischer) To authorize a sales tax holiday for four months each year for the sale of firearm safety and storage devices.

HB 331 - REMOVE FIREARM SUPPRESSORS FROM DANGEROUS ORDNANCE (Sponsors: Kellie Deeter, Tex Fischer) To remove firearm mufflers and suppressors from the classification of dangerous ordnance.

HB 382 - ENACT THE SECOND AMENDMENT PROTECTION ACT (Sponsor: Tex Fischer) To enact the Second Amendment Protection Act to safeguard the right to keep and bear arms.

HB 460 - ALLOW SPECIFIED OFFICALS TO CARRY A HANDGUN IN A GOVT. FACILITY (Sponsors: Thad Claggett, Bernard Willis) To allow members of the General Assembly, statewide elected officials, judges, and magistrates to carry a concealed handgun in a government facility of the state or a political subdivision.

HB 495 - UPGRADE OHIO'S CONCEALED HANDGUN LICENSE TO A CONCEALED WEAPONS LICENSE (Sponsors: Jennifer Gross, Josh Williams) To enact the Freedom to Carry Act to rename a concealed handgun license a concealed weapons license and to allow a concealed weapons licensee to carry a concealed deadly weapon other than an exclusive deadly weapon.

HB 498 - ENACT THE OHIO SELF-DEFENSE ACT (Sponsors: Beth Lear, Monica Robb Blasdel) To modify the law regarding self-defense, which includes expanding castle doctrine, clarifying use of force to stop a forceable felony, creating a financial penalty for unjustified lawsuits or prosecutions, establishing a pretrial hearing to determine immunity from criminal prosecution, limiting police discretion and creating a legal shield before trial.

SB 59 - EXEMPT FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION FROM SALES TAX (Sponsors: Al Cutrona, Tim Schaffer) To exempt from the sales and use tax the sale of certain firearms and ammunition and to authorize refundable tax credits for small arms and ammunition manufacturing projects.

SB 96 - AUTHORIZE A TAX CREDIT FOR HANDGUN TRAINING AND FIREARMS STORAGE (Sponsors: Hearcel Craig, Willis Blackshear) To authorize a nonrefundable income tax credit for the cost of handgun training and firearms storage and locking devices.

SB 214 - REMOVE FIREARM SUPPRESSORS FROM DANGEROUS ORDNANCE (Sponsor: Kyle Koehler) To remove firearm mufflers and suppressors from the classification of dangerous ordnance.

SB 273 - PROVIDE CIVIL IMMUNITY FOR THE VOLUNTARY STORAGE OF FIREARMS (Sponsor: Kyle Koehler) To enact the Keep Them Safe Act to provide guidelines and civil immunity for the voluntary storage of firearms.

SB 278 - PERMIT MONETARY DAMAGES AGAINST CITIES WITH GUN CONTROL (Sponsor: Terry Johnson) To permit individuals to seek punitive or exemplary damages against municipal corporations that pass gun control measures.

SB 279 - MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO PROHIBIT AN OFF-DUTY OFFICER FROM CARRYING A FIREARM (Sponsor: Terry Johnson) To prohibit a business, state agency, or political subdivision from discouraging or prohibiting a law enforcement officer from carrying a weapon while off duty.

SB 303 - ALLOW 18-21 YEAR OLDS TO PURCHASE A HANDGUN FROM A FEDERAL DEALER (Sponsor: Terry Johnson) To allow a person who is between eighteen and twenty-one years old to receive or purchase a handgun from a federally licensed firearms dealer.

These are bills which, as currently written, increase firearm regulations and infringe Second Amendment rights.

HB 45 - IMPOSE 10-DAY WAITING PERIODS (Sponsors: Cecil Thomas, Rachel Baker) To prohibit a firearms dealer from transferring a firearm until at least ten days have elapsed since contacting the national instant criminal background check system.

HB 46 - ENACT EXTREME RISK PROTECTION ORDER (Sponsors: Cecil Thomas, Michele Grim) To allow family members, household members, and law enforcement officers to obtain a court order that seizes a person's firearms based on an accusation of that person posing a danger to themselves or others.

HB 337 - REQUIRE GUN TRIGGER LOCKS (Sponsors: Cecil Thomas, Anita Somani) To require that gun trigger locks be attached and provided with firearms sales by federally licensed firearms dealers.

HB 348 - REPEAL PERMITLESS CARRY (Sponsors: Dani Isaacsohn, Meredith Lawson-Rowe) To repeal the changes made by SB 215 which makes concealed carry licensing optional and removes the duty to "promptly" inform a law enforcement officer when carrying a concealed handgun.

HB 350 - BAN BUMP STOCKS IN OHIO (Sponsors: Cecil Thomas, Michele Grim) To ban the import, manufacture, sale, transfer, or possession of trigger cranks, bump-fire devices, and other items.

HB 351 - ESTABLISH THE OHIO TASK FORCE ON GUN VIOLENCE (Sponsors: Darnell Brewer, Karen Brownlee) To create a taskforce to recommend ways to deal with violent criminal behavior that dosn't involve actually enforcing the law and prosecuting criminals.

HB 352 - EXPAND THE OFFENSE OF WEAPONS UNDER DISABILITY (Sponsor: Darnell Brewer) To expand the offense of domestic violence and the offense of weapons under disability.

HB 354 - PROHIBIT FIREARM POSSESSION WITH A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CONVICTION (Sponsors: Michele Grim, Munira Abdullahi) To prohibit a person who has been convicted of first degree misdemeanor domestic violence from possessing a firearm or dangerous ordnance.

HB 373 - ENACT UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS (Sponsors: Phillip Robinson, Crystal Lett) To forbid personal firearm transfers and require all transfers to be made through a dealer, through a law enforcement agency, or pursuant to a specified exception, and to require background checks for all firearm transfers.

HB 408 - ROLL BACK STAND YOUR GROUND AND REIMPOSE A DUTY TO RETREAT (Sponsor: Latyna Humphrey) To roll back stand your ground legislation and limit no duty to retreat to a person's home and vehicle only, and to allow courts to consider the possibility of retreat as a factor in cases of self-defense.

SB 75 - INCREASE PENALTY FOR NOT REPORTING A LOST OR STOLEN GUN (Sponsors: Paula Hicks-Hudson, Catherine Ingram) To increase the penalty for failure to report a lost or stolen firearm.

SB 235 - BAN BUMP STOCKS (Sponsors: Kent Smith, Hearcel Craig) To prohibit the import, manufacture, sales, transfer, or possession of trigger cranks, a bump-fire devices, and other items that affect a semi-automatic firearm's rate of fire.

SB 236 - ESTABLISH A GUN REGISTRY (Sponsors: Hearcel Craig, Paula Hicks-Hudson) To create and maintain a "do not possess" firearms registry even though state and federal law forbids gun owner registries.

SB 237 - REPEAL STATEWIDE PREEMPTION (Sponsors: Hearcel Craig, Catherine Ingram) To repeal ORC 9.68 in its entirety and give every city, village, and township the ability to enforce their own set of firearm laws and create a patchwork of laws around the state.

HR 148 - STORE AND SECURE FIREARMS (Sponsor: Darnell Brewer, Kellie Deeter) To urge Ohioans to take appropriate measures to safely store and secure their firearms when not in use. This resolution has no force of law.

HB 358 - DISTRIBUTE INFORMATION ON FIREARM STORAGE (Sponsor: Darnell Brewer, Tex Fischer) To require information and best practices regarding the storage of firearms to be distributed to all schools in Ohio.

HB 614 - SECOND CHANCE SAFETY ACT ( Sponsors: Bernard Willis, Tristan Rader) To enact the Second Chance Safety Act to provide civil immunity to a federally licensed firearm dealer or law enforcement agency that enters into a firearm hold agreement with the owner of a firearm.

SB 238 - LIMIT LIABILITY FOR FIREARM HOLD AGREEMENTS (Sponsors: Hearcel Craig) To limit liability for federally licensed firearms dealers in regards to voluntary firearm hold agreements.
