By Chris Chumita

There are more stories pertaining to our gun rights in Ohio then we can possibly draw attention to with individual daily commentary. But they are all worthy of mention.

What follows is our review of headlines from around the state though a pro-gun rights lens.

From the City of Cleveland arresting a law-abiding gun owner to a robbery, these articles should be a part of your required reading!

What follows is several days of headlines accompanied by short, concise pro-gun analysis.

9/29/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Concealed Or Open Carrying Of Guns At Issue In City Case

From the article:

Cleveland has a local ordinance prohibiting open carry, and police are under orders by Mayor Frank Jackson to continue enforcing the local rules despite the state law, according to Lt. Thomas Stacho, a department spokesman.

Once again, the city of Cleveland proved its arrogance and defied state law by arresting a law-abiding gun owner who did not commit a crime.

9/28/08: Westlake, Ohio: Woman Stops Suspected Kidnapper With Purse

From the article:

The 34-year-old Lorain woman reported that a man attempted to abduct her and force her into his vehicle at about 5 a.m.

The nursing assistant was able to escape from him after striking him with her purse and calling 911.

This incident had a happy ending, because the woman is a true warrior and refused to be a victim.

9/28/08: Avon Lake, Ohio: Avon Lake Gas Station Robbed

From the article:

The BP Gas Station located on Belden Road in Avon Lake was robbed early Sunday morning.

The clerk reported that the robber displayed a gun, took cash from the register and then fled the scene on foot.

Violent crime can happen anywhere at anytime. Always be prepared to defend yourself!

9/16/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Man Shot While Sitting In His Car

From the article:

James Zagorski, 20, was shot as he sat in his 1999 Pontiac Grand Am at about 9:30 p.m. on Glendale Avenue.

I wonder how may law-abiding gun owners were being harrassed by the Cleveland Police Department while this shooting took place.

9/9/08: Fairview Park, Ohio: Security Cameras Capture Man Robbing Local Bank

From the article:

The FBI is hoping that security camera images will help identify the man who robbed a bank in Fairview Park Tuesday.

The robber threatened the clerk and stated that he had a weapon. The question is, how could this have happened in a Fifth Third Bank? Almost all Fifth Third Banks are a so called gun free zone, because they ban law-abiding citizens from carrying their firearms in the bank.

9/8/08: Cleveland, Ohio: School On Lockdown Due To Shooting Threat

From the article:

A Cleveland high school is on lockdown Monday because of the threat of a shooting.

Enough is enough. It is time that we take school safety seriously. We must pass a law that allows school staff to leaglly arm themselves while at school.

9/8/08: Brooklyn, Ohio: Armed Man Robs Cash-Advance Business

From the article:

Brooklyn police are looking for an armed man who robbed a cash-advance business last Wednesday.

Police said the robbery took place at Advance America on Biddulph Road. The robber was armed with a handgun.

Violent crime happens. Always be prepared.
