Rep. Peterson (R-2) named assistant whip

Delaware's State Rep. Jon Peterson (R-2), endorsed by OFCC PAC in the 2002 election, was elected by fellow legislators to serve as assistant majority whip in the Ohio House of Representatives. The position is the sixth ranking spot in the Republican leadership team.

Peterson, who began his second term in the legislature last month, said his main responsibility is to work with House Speaker Larry Householder to make sure they’ll have enough votes to pass pieces of legislation and to find out what modifications will satisfy legislators who oppose bills.

He also will work with the speaker to set priorities on which areas of policy will be addressed, and he will assist with day-to-day administrative issues.
