Pro-Gun Punditry: Wednesday's Buckeye State Roundabout

By Chris Chumita

There are more stories pertaining to our gun rights in Ohio then we can possibly draw attention to with individual daily commentary. But they are all worthy of mention.

What follows is our review of headlines from around the state though a pro-gun rights lens.

From an armed robber temporarily escaping to robberies at diners, these articles should be a part of your required reading!

What follows is several days of headlines accompanied by short, concise pro-gun analysis.

8/3/08: Dayton, Ohio: Police: Woman Robs Gas Station With Hammer

From the article:

A woman suspected of wielding a hammer while robbing a gas station slipped out of her handcuffs, stole a police cruiser and led officers on a high-speed chase, eluding them before she was discovered hiding in a garage, police said.

The gun-grabbers want us to believe that the police are able to protect us. However, they never mention incidents like this. I would love to know how can a handcuffed violent criminal can escape so easily.

8/3/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Man Stabbed When He, Friends Are Attacked By Crowd On West Side

A group of as many as 40 Saturday night attacked four people outside of a West 25th Street liquor store, stabbing one of the men several times in the back.

The city of Cleveland's revitalization of West 25th Street is doomed for failure when four people cannot go into a store without being attacked by a mob. After reading incidents like this, it makes you wonder why anyone would go anywhere in Cleveland unarmed.

7/30/08: Cleveland, Ohio: 3 Carjackings Since Sunday On Cleveland's East Side

From the article:

There have been three carjackings on the East Side since Sunday night, when one man was shot.

Even more incidents of violent crome rocks the city of Cleveland while the city seems more concerned about attacking the law-abiding citizen's Second Amendment rights.

7/30/08: Akron, Ohio: Akron Man Stunned Residents With A Taser Gun

From the article:

A 19-year-old Akron man was arrested after nearby residents on April Court and White Street complained that he was assaulting people with a Taser gun on Tuesday.

Thankfully, no one was seriously injured. I would hate to imagine what could have happened to his victims after he tased them. This is exactly why we should always be prepared to defend ourselves.

7/29/08: Toledo, Ohio: Man abducts Toledo Woman, Forces Her To Perform Oral Sex

A warning about a man abducting women in Toledo, and forcing them to perform sex acts, against their will.

These incidents show us how women can be easily victimized if they are unable to defend themselves. Teach the women in your life how to shoot and encourage them to get their concealed handgun license. If you do, you may help prevent them from becoming a victim.

7/29/08: Toledo, Ohio: 2 West Toledo Diners Held Up By Masked Gunman

Police yesterday were investigating two robberies that occurred within five minutes of one another Sunday at two West Toledo restaurants involving a man who covered his face with a hooded sweatshirt.

Always be prepared to defend yourself, even while picking up dinner!
