2015 NRA BOD elections include two candidates from Ohio
As regular readers of BuckeyeFirearms.org pages know, the NRA is the oldest and largest defender of our Second Amendment rights in the United States. Founded by Union officers in the years following the US Civil War, its mission has been to promote marksmanship and the shooting sports for over 144 years now. In the last century, they had to take on a new role: defending the Second Amendment from activists eager to destroy our Right to Keep and Bear Arms. In light of that fact, it is imperative that we elect members to the NRA board who will be tenacious in fighting to protect our rights from attacks in Washington D.C. and in the 50 state capitols.
The election of new directors for the NRA board are currently under way. Qualified members should have recently received ballots in their magazines. For Buckeyes who want to make sure the Second Amendment is defended at all costs, there are two men from Ohio whom need to be elected and re-elected to the NRA board.
Bob Wos will be running for re-election this year and is worthy of our support. Over the past year, I have served on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association with Bob and I have been impressed by his knowledge, integrity, and strong dedication to defending our Second Amendment rights. Bob, a past President of the OGCA, is also associated with several other gun rights groups, including the Smith & Wesson, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Browning, Missouri Valley, Stark County, Maumee Valley, Texas, Dallas, and Pennsylvania Collectors Associations, as well as the Ohio Rifle & Pistol Association. After more than three decades of NRA membership, he serves as a member of the NRA Gun Collectors Committee and is co-chair of the NRA Committee on Elections.
He also enthusiastically supports youth shooting organizations. Himself an active competitor who shot the M1 Garand, M-14, and the M-16 at Camp Perry, you can count on Bob to defend your right to own the semi-automatic firearms some misguided folks in Congress are so hot and eager to ban.
As you can see, Bob Wos is a man with great passion for Second Amendment and who dedicates a great deal of time and treasure to the effort. He deserves our support in his reelection to the NRA Board.
Sean Maloney is a name that should be very familiar to all who visit BuckeyeFirearms.org.
Sean Maloney is a Legislative Director of Buckeye Firearms Association, a Second Amendment Rights attorney in West Chester, an NRA Benefactor Life Member, NRA Election Volunteer Coordinator for Ohio's 8th Congressional District, an active NRA Instructor, serves on the "Grassroots Development" committee of the National Rifle Association, and received the NRA's 2010 NRA-ILA “Jay M. Littlefield Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award;" He was also a 2011 Inductee to the NRA-ILA “Election Volunteer Coordinator Hall of Fame” and 2013 Friends of the NRA Area Volunteer of the year for Southern Ohio.
Sean has served as one of our Second Amendment commandos, traveling to other states to organize citizens and help them fight against anti-gun politicians. I will note that his efforts have worked out very well and we are very proud of his efforts. His Second Call program is an innovative effort at providing protection to law abiding citizens in the wake of a defensive shooting. Like most insurance, it’s something you pray you will never ever have to use, but you will thank God you have it should something happen.
Though there are many worthy names on the ballot this year, I urge you to return Bob Wos and to elect Sean Maloney to the NRA Board. Teamed with our friend Linda Walker, they will be an impressive force keeping the NRA on the right track and in the forefront of the fight to protect our rights. I hope you will do your part by taking the time to fill out your ballot and mailing it back as soon as possible.
Tim Inwood is the current Legislative Liaison and Past President of the Clinton County Farmers and Sportsmen Association, an Endowment Member of the NRA and Life Member of the OGCA, a member of the Board of Directors of the OGCA, Chairman of the Clinton County Republican Party, and a volunteer for Buckeye Firearms Association.
