Geauga Constitutional Council to host 2nd Amendment Forum

The Geauga Constitutional Council will host "The 2nd Amendment Forum" on Friday April 24 at 5:30PM.

Speakers include Senator Tim Grendell, Geauga Co. Sheriff Dan McClelland, Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack, and Buckeye Firearms Association Chairman Jim Irvine.

When the Clinton "Assault Weapon Ban" went into effect, Sheriff Mack fought the Feds regarding enforcement of the ban. As Sheriff, he was the supreme law enforcement officer in the county. As such, he refused to allow Federal agents to prosecute his citizens under a law. As you might imagine, the Feds didn't take this lying down. Sheriff Mack fought them all the way to the United States Supreme Court – and won! It was a huge victory for the Second Amendment. Mack is the author of, The County Sheriff, America's Last Hope. He will conduct a book signing following his speech. This event would be worth the price of admission just for the opportunity to hear and meet such a staunch defender of your rights.

Senator Tim Grendell has long been a champion for gun owners in the Ohio Statehouse. In the House he played an important role in the House Criminal Justice Committee helping craft concealed carry and firearms bills that worked well for law abiding gun owners. He has continued his work as Chairman of the Senate Criminal Justice Committee and is a brilliant legal mind.

Geauga County Sheriff Dan McClelland is another longtime friend of gun owners. In the first months of Ohio's concealed carry law, Sheriff McClelland helped fill the huge demand for licenses and with far fewer resources than Cuyahoga County, he did a wonderful job issuing licenses not only to his own constituents but also to many Cuyahoga County residents whose sheriff was being sued for failure to do his job.

Jim Irvine is an NRA certified instructor and the Chairman of Buckeye Firearms Association. He is host of the "Firearms Forum" radio show heard every Sunday night at 8PM on WHK 1420 Cleveland and simulcast at whkradio.com Irvine has been involved and working with the legislature since back when a majority of Ohio gun owners only dreamed of a good concealed carry law. He has been involved with every major gun bill in Ohio since and is also involved on the National level in the fight to bring sensible rules to pilots who carry guns to protect their passengers and Country.

The evening promises to be fun and educational. Come listen to those involved in the fight to defend and restore your rights. Tickets are $35 per person, or $300 for a table of eight includes dinner. There will be a cash bar and a 50/50 raffle.
