Two previous PAC endorsees may face off in race for state Attorney General

The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that Democrat State Sen. Marc Dann announced his entry into the race to replace Jim Petro for Attorney General in Ohio. Sen. Dann was a 2004 endorsee of this political action committee, and voted for Ohioans' right to carry a firearm for self-defense. Sen. Dann participated in an open carry 'Defense Walk' organized by Rick Kaleda back in 2003. Kaleda is now Buckeye Firearms Association's Northeast Ohio Chair.

The newspaper reports that former Cleveland law director Subodh Chandra is also seeking the Democratic nomination, indicating that a May '06 primary contest may loom for this office on the Democrat side of the isle.

As we reported previously, two-time Buckeye Firearms Association endorsee and current State Senator Tim Grendell has announced his plans to enter the race for state attorney general on the Republican side of the ticket.

The office of Ohio Attorney General will open in 2006 election because current Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro is making a bid for the Republican nomination for governor.
