Cleveland announces "voluntary" handgun registration - help us tell them "NO!"

According to WKYC.com, "Cleveland residents who want to register their handguns can do so 24 hours a day, seven days a week."

Let that idea sink in for a moment. Cleveland has launched a voluntary handgun registration program. For what purpose? Are they expecting criminals to register their guns? Not likely. And if any law-abiding citizens register, what will authorities do with the information?

So we are helping Cleveland residents fight back.

Because it makes no sense. It makes even less sense when you consider the difficult and time-consuming process to register. From the article:

Applicants will need to bring photo identification, specifically a government issued drivers license, passport, Ohio identification card, or military identification.

All applicants should bring all handguns unloaded and securely wrapped to the police district of their choice.

A police officer will verify the applicant's identification, verify the make, model, caliber, and serial number of the weapon and do a record check on the gun.

Who would be naive enough to bring their guns to authorities and subject themselves to what amounts to a voluntary criminal investigation? And what is the result of this process?

If the investigation turns up nothing, you'll get an invitation to make an appointment, have a photo taken, and pay a fee for the privilege of receiving a totally unnecessary registration card.

If the investigation turns up a crime, we can only assume that, at the very least, your gun will be seized.

Does anyone think this program will accomplish anything?

Buckeye Firearms Association will help you say "NO" to Cleveland

The moment we read this story, and after we stopped laughing, we decided that citizens should stand up to this incredible waste of time and taxpayer dollars. So we've created a "De-Registration" program.

The way it works is simple. You fill in a short form and we send an ANONYMOUS postcard to Cleveland's anti-gun establishment on your behalf.

This card will list your name as John Doe and reveal NOTHING whatsoever about you or your firearm. What it will do is send a clear message about what you think of their registration program.

When they get only a handful of actual registrations (if any at all) and compare that to the many John Doe cards from citizens who refuse to participate, they may eventually come to understand how we feel about their endless and pathetic attempts to rob us of our Constitutional rights.

Tell Cleveland what you think about their voluntary handgun registration. CLICK HERE to send your De-Registration card today.
