Pathetic dog and pony show

by Tim Inwood

The NRA ran an ad pointing out the hypocrisy of the Administration opposing armed guards for our nation's schools while the President's children had armed security at theirs. Within hours the President's spokesman Jay Carney attacked the ad, complaining it was unfair to use the President's children as political pawns. I found the hypocrisy of this statement too much to swallow, as President Obama and Vice President Biden were using children as props the same day before the White House press corps as they presented their 23-point spending bill squandering another $4.5 billion dollars of our money on ideological idiocy and treating guns like a disease.

0bama and Biden paraded these children out and shamelessly used these cute kids and their words like weapons. They made them pawns in a cheap political game of DC chess to attack our constitutional rights, pressure Congress, and tear-jerk emotionally weak citizens, all in a bogus attempt to turn this into a moral crusade for the children. Never mind that children in recent months have used the very type of gun 0bama wishes to ban to protect themselves from home invaders. By now I think the story of that 15-year-old boy using his father's AR-15 to protect his sister from two thugs who broke into their home should be well-known to our readers. That gun was his great equalizer and saved the lad and his sister from those miserable hoodlums.

As the President carried on about protecting the children, let us not forget the truth of the matter: this is a great fraud; our President, pretending to be a protector of children, has the blood of many children on his hands. As a state senator for Illinois he thrice voted to make sure that a child who was accidentally born during an abortion procedure not be given medical treatment and be allowed to die. Children actually did come completely out of the mother during partial birth abortion procedures and were laid out and ignored, denied medical treatment so they would die. Whatever you think of the issue of abortion, there is no argument that a child born and left to die is flatly murdered and this man who pretends to embrace and protect children promoted this policy. This man who holds the highest office in the land is a moral disgrace to the office and this country. My utter disdain for him literally grows by the minute.

We all know nothing proposed by him at this event or what Senator Feinstein has worked on for years would have stopped what happened. Mrs. Lanza legally owned her guns. She jumped through the required hoops and nothing in any of this would have kept her from owning guns or her son from killing her and taking those guns for the crime he committed. This is a shameless use of the deaths of children to carry out the age-old dream of the American Left to disarm the American people. Universal background checks is not about background checks, it's about creating more Form 4473s and getting every gun they can registered so they know where it is and can find it later. Look at what the state of New York and Governor Cuomo are doing right now and be warned that this is truly what that issue is all about. This is, as they say, yet another "first step", and we know their ultimate goal, for they have dared utter it in the past.

"If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them—Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in—I would have done it." - Senator Diane Feinstein

Mark my words, this is not about crime control; this is about advancing tyranny. And if we do not resist this power grab by a tyrant, then we are not worthy of our birthright as the progeny of those who defeated the King of England at Yorktown in 1781.

Those brave souls risked all and gave us the liberty; over these years so much of that liberty has been sadly squandered and lost. Let us make them proud by taking a stand now and saying: no more! Let them know the spirit of freedom and liberty still lives in our hearts! Fight this latest attack on our rights! Never surrender them!
